Today we’d like to introduce you to TDO Von-T.
Hi TDO, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Channing Von Taylor better known by TDO Von-T, is an American rapper, DJ, singer, songwriter, actor, and activist. In January 2019, after premiering the music video for his song “Turn Off the Lights”, he became a viral internet sensation accumulating over a million views on World Star Hip-Hop due to his many different styles and his custom helmet. Von-T was discriminated against in the Army and criminally charged for pursuing his musical dream. Hip-Hop being the genre that was specifically targeted. Von-T launched a petition known as “Operation Musical Freedom” in the attempt to expose and change the laws that allowed this injustice to happen in the first place. This is a movement to put an end to these kinds of actions from happening to anyone else and systemic racism anywhere in the United States it exists.
TDO Von-T has gained the name of his fans of “The Hope of the Streets”. In 2024 he dropped “Get Doe”, which compliments his versatility in music as a “all around artist” and proved he has a story to tell and can drop a single in multiple genres of music separate from each other and sometimes you wouldn’t even know it was the same artist, due to his ability to change his voice and tempo across genres. In 2023 he dropped one of the hottest EDM tracks that year “Long Time Remix”, In 2022 TDO Von-T charted twice on Apple Music with his single titled “Lit” placing #23 in Hip-Hop in March and then again in August with his single “Anything 4 U” at #11.
He is also trending on Pandora and IHeart Radio as one of the hottest emerging stations with various relevant artists curated on his station. Because of his wide range of talents, mysterious helmet, and literally the only person to exist with his life story and mission, he has rapidly spread across the world. He released his first album titled “Music Is” in 2021 with the goal to give hope back to the humanity and contribute with his music and brand to the already rich history of music as a form of human expression.
He is well on his path to create a safe space for everyone in whatever artistic expression they pursue without fear of backlash from individuals that seemingly hold administrative power over them with their already established legacy they work for. His label that he established Symbiotic Music Family (SMF) has positioned him to provide an outlet for all musical talent regardless of genre. TDO Von-T is managed by himself and his single titled “Get Doe” in 2024 took his career through the roof. He then aligned his brand with hundreds of notable brands and small businesses to use his social media platforms to promote those companies who align themselves with his vision and fight for justice. This also boosted his presence in the world of social media influences, gaining millions of followers and connecting them back to his music and movement. He was also nominated in 2025 by IHeart Radio as the #1 Hip-Hop emerging artist to watch. Shortly after he dropped Rudy Hxtble, which is rich in tales on how to become legal in an America where the bar for “being legal” is always changing. He did this with the spin off late 80’s and 90’s TV shows and sitcoms. Where he also gives recognition to other artist who passed away far too soon that helped paved his way such as Pop Smoke and Tak-Off one of the rap groups members who used to go by Migos.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to fame for TDO Von-T has involved significant personal and professional obstacles, which is not easy for most people to achieve. His journey was one of many maneuvers and, a detailed plan, a lot of personal time sacrificed, and a lot of years of “seeding” his plan.
Von-T goes by “The Hope of the Streets,” and it’s a fitting background of difficult circumstances that he is worked to rise above and inspire others to always hold your head up, no matter the obstacle that is in your way. He established his own label, Symbiotic Music Family (SMF), to provide a supportive environment for artists and a statement against the 2025 Trump administration, the democrats, and the current formation of our government who all are failing to protect the people who support, defend, and rely on the system to work.
His personal motto, which his fans now chat emphasizes his extreme unmatchable work ethic (“Work at least 12 hours a day 7 days a week with all 8 eyes open and you will never fail KOVU1278”),
His success has been achieved across multiple genres of music, which requires versatility and continuous effort to break into different music scenes. Never to be defined by one genre despite being labeled by Google as solely a rapper. His career path and music clearly show he is way beyond being labeled a rapper.
His journey is a story of resilience and determination in the face of an industry that can be challenging for emerging artists. However, his success is one of if you stay true to what you believe in and follow your dream despite your obstacles you will always find your path.

TDO Von-T has often been compared to world emerging leaders primarily due to his entrepreneurial drive, global reach, and the social justice mission he aligns with his music and brand, most notably AMAG (American Make America Great) and his petition ‘Operation Musical Freedom’
This comparison is attributed to several factors which includes his global spread and Influence: His music and narrative have achieved a rapid worldwide reach. Through collaborations with numerous artists and aligning his name with notable brands and small businesses to promote their services on his social media platforms, he has enhanced his visibility and impact as a social media figure with millions of followers unlike anyone has done before.
He has a mission-driven work ethic just like figures like Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, and Densel Washinton. He is known as “The Hope of the Streets,” TDO Von-T has created a cultivate environment where creativity can flourish without apprehension or restriction. He leverages his platform to “promote positive change and bring awareness to things that may get too often overlooked in the chaos, corruption, and greed happening in America today”. Although the government has tried on many occasions to silence him. Dating back from when he was active duty until this very day. This includes court hearing, working with his mortgage company Ameri-Home Loans to enable him to lose his dwelling, denied medical care and several attempts at stopping doctors from operating on him and attempting to bully them to stop set procedures, not given an official retirement, contacting merchandise companies and trying to force them to remove his brand, denied and lied during questions given by local news stations, they even went as far as to stop local news stations from airing the stories within the local Fort Gordon area, multiple IRS audits, and in a last ditch effort they even went as far as to hack his YouTube to attempt to destroy the legacy and the message he has built. However, they still come up short as he just keeps coming back with a bigger and better message for the American people who truly believe in AMAG.
He has been a beacon for advocacy and justice before he joined the armed forces, during and after his commitment to the country. Von-T and created a movement to highlight and stop all racial practices within the United States. He has poured his heart into this message, and it plays out in his movies, music, promotions, petition, website, donations, and adventures. He made it his mission to remind Americans why they are already great with his movement AMAG. He also created a logo that stands for ‘Hope and Balance’ and you can find this logo throughout his promotions, music videos, and on his trademarked merchandise. This work for justice and change reflects actions directly aligned with civic and global leaders.
His work ethic and vision are right in line with other figures that we only seen once in our lifetime, and probably will never see again, because truly authentic stories and paths are hard and, in most cases, impossible to duplicate. He adheres to a rigorous work ethic to advance his vision for all people beyond just Americans.
He was a captain in the United States on his way to make major upon his untimely retirement and is still a true captain America for positive change but also understanding and realizing you cannot reach certain goals today without being ruthless, fierce, and very deliberate. This is where the hope and balance come into play. He initiated the AMAG (Americans Make America Great) movement, which is moving to undermine the trend that America is headed today. Some of his fans have even hinted or have sent a nudge TDO Von-T to enter into politics as a figurehead directly. You can see evidence of this on his social media platforms where hundreds of fans comment AMAG or call for Von to run for president of the United States.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
TDO Von-T highlights a lot of countries overseas where he has traveled that have booked him for a review of their island or products that truly believe in what he is doing. His schedule stays booked up mostly overseas where he brings a highlighted view of America, how we should be conducting ourselves and where he knows we should be at. This is directly in line with the AMAG movement. To restore Americas tarnished glory as truly being ‘The Land of the Free and Home of the Brave’
