Daily Inspiration: Meet Tatyana Arrington

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatyana Arrington.

Hi Tatyana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
After losing my brother Ahjanee “Lemon” Arrington to death by suicide in December 2019, my family and I was determined to keep his memory and dream alive. In April 2020, during the pandemic, we re-launched Stix Unlimited, LLC., a unisex streetwear brand. Stix was originally founded by my brother Ahjanee in 2010 when he was 15 years old and it features his original artwork designs. He was extremely passionate about his clothing line and his vision was to create a brand for everyone. The journey to our launch in April 2020 presented numerous challenges since we had no experience in the fashion design world. We encountered many obstacles along the way from finding the right manufacturers to limited finances but we continued to persevere. Grieving the loss of Ahjanee made it extremely difficult to launch the clothing line. Many days we were unable to make progress because we felt so broken. The day we launched Stix was beyond exciting! We received so much love and support from friends, family and people who genuinely like the brand. We are about to celebrate our one-year anniversary on April 25th. In addition, we are super excited to release our Spring/Summer 2021 collection.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey to our launch in April 2020 presented numerous challenges since we had no experience in the fashion design world. We struggled with finding the right manufacturers, trying to recreate Ahjanee’s logo’s and designs to overcoming obstacles with limited finances but we continued to persevere. Grieving the loss of him makes it very difficult at times to accomplish our goals but we get through it together.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
After losing my brother, I resigned from my 9 to 5 to launch Stix Unlimited, LLC. In addition to being Co-Owner of Stix and running the business, I am a Freelance Entertainment Reporter, Actress, Social Media Influencer and recent Author of a Children’s Book for ages 4 to 7 called “Adventures of Summer and Winter: I Got A Puppy!” What I’m most proud of is launching Stix Unlimited, LLC. in the midst of a pandemic. What sets me apart from others is my work ethic and my drive to succeed and never give up.

How do you define success?
I measure success by the number of people’s lives I can positively impact and how can I use my voice to make a difference.
