Daily Inspiration: Meet Stephanie George

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie George.

Stephanie George is an American-based Afrolatina TV personality, actress, culinary healer, childhood hunger activist and a millennial mother. She is a former editorial hairstylist trained in the posh soho neighborhood in NYC, she has also worked as a Comedic writer and has appeared on catalog of international television shows. Her mission is to teach people the art of creating comfort food and to ease and manage anxiety/depression through the sensory process of cooking. She also shows millennial parents the art of bento box making for children’s meal ideas. Her lifelong purpose is to eradicate childhood hunger, food deserts and to find solutions to provide clean water for those in need.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It’s most definitely not been a smooth road, I took a couple of years off when I had my son and it’s been a challenge to get back into the swing of things in the creative world. The balance between parenthood and my career will be something I will be working on mastering but I’m sure by the time I do my son will already be an adult.

I came from a rough but very vibrant city in New Jersey called Elizabeth, I decided to move away and give my dreams a shot. I have had faced many things that have hardened my skin up a bit but it’s the beauty of the business. At this point in my life, I’ve done a lot of fun things with different jobs in the entertainment industry but my main focus would be using my platform to keep good going. I believe in good karma and that’s what has kept me in this for so long.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m most known for my colorful laidback personality, a lot of people would say I’m a bit of a bohemian or hippy but I totally embrace it. I usually tell them I’m a little bit of hippy with a bit of wu tang on the side.

What sets me apart from others is my energy, I’ve always felt unique and I’m finally in a place where I’m embracing it fully and not trying to fit into a mold or a trend. I like for people to experience my energy whether they have their eyes open or not.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Patience and the art of saying no, just really sticking to what you deserve. It hasn’t been easy but I’ve had many lessons and I’m happy to be able to handle many situations as they come just from experience.
