Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophia and Judy Grant – a doctor and therapist. The two of them have shared the story of their new podcast 2SOCA – 2 Sisters of a Certain Age.
Sophia and Judy have talked about launching their podcast for a while and have finally decide to start it in the Fall of 2022. The two sisters it was important to share insights they had gained professionally and personally with women who are also of a certain age or who wanted to have discussions about heavy topics in an in-depth, informed and sometimes humorous way. Together they formed 2SOCA – 2 Sisters of a Certain Age, a biweekly podcast that discusses all things related to middle age whether it is sending a child off to college, dating in midlife, family traditions, going through divorce or how to care for an aging parent.
The idea was sparked while on the beach in their home country of Jamaica; it germinated and blossomed with the encouragement of family members who have consistently observed the dynamic rapport between the two sisters.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The major stumbling block for 2SOCA initially was the technology. Like most people of a certain age, we were not well-versed in that area. However through the aid and support of family members who got us over the hurdle of the equipment we are now able to record our podcast independently, while other vital family members edit and keep up with the more technical aspects of the podcast through their own production company – NO LONGER NETWORK https://www.nolongernetwork.com/post/2soca-podcast-launch
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
If you are afraid of technology that is required for you to get started, ask for help and then empower yourself by learning so that you don’t have to become wholly dependent on others.
