Today we’d like to introduce you to Seeta.
Hi Seeta, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I often say that Ayurvedic Medicine found me long before I found it. It runs through my bloodline, woven into generations of Indian women who healed with herbs, intuition, and love. My great-grandfather was an Ayurvedic doctor in India, and my great-grandmothers carried the wisdom of natural medicine through the kitchen — stirring healing into every spice blend and remedy.
Growing up in Los Angeles, I was no stranger to the imbalances of city life — long hours, constant stimulation, and the quiet burnout that often follows ambition. My own health began to unravel: digestive issues, chronic back pain, shingles, and relentless fatigue. Those challenges became the doorway that led me home to Ayurveda.
At the time, I was a collegiate athlete at the University of Michigan studying Kinesiology and Exercise Science. As a scholarship athlete and co-captain, I was fascinated by human performance and the science of recovery. I began experimenting on myself — blending Western sports physiology with meditation, nutrition, and breathwork. But when modern medicine couldn’t explain why my body was in distress, Ayurveda gave me a language of balance, intuition, and wholeness.
That discovery became my calling. I went on to earn my Clinical Doctorate in Ayurvedic Medicine and have now devoted over two decades to helping others heal naturally. Today, I have a boutique private practice nestled in the Valley and lead Mata Institute: School of Ayurveda & Divine Wisdom, where I weave ancient Ayurvedic medicine and natural healing with modern science — guiding women, leaders, and visionaries to restore vitality, harmony, and connection to their true nature.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The path of healing is never a straight line — it’s more like a spiral, constantly bringing you back to your truth, but at deeper and more refined levels each time.
There were seasons when my own body became my greatest teacher — when exhaustion, heartbreak, and uncertainty stripped away every title I thought defined me. Ayurveda didn’t just heal me once; it continues to teach me how to live in rhythm with Nature and the truth of each moment.
One of my biggest challenges was bridging worlds — ancient and modern, mystical and scientific, East and West. As a doctor trained in both Western physiology and Vedic medicine, I had to discover a new language, one that honored the sacred roots of Ayurveda while translating it for the modern woman, the visionary, the artist, and the leader.
Living in Los Angeles has also been its own initiation. The city pulses with creativity and ambition, yet it can easily pull you out of balance. I had to learn to become what I wanted to offer others — to embody calm in chaos and build a sanctuary of stillness in a city that never stops moving. When clients walk into my office, the first thing they say is, “I feel so peaceful here.” I created a healing sanctuary because I needed it too — and that energy naturally extends to everyone who enters.
Every challenge is its own form of medicine and offers unique guidance.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a Doctor of Ayurvedic Medicine, herbalist, bodyworker, and medical intuitive — but at the heart of it, I’m a bridge between ancient wisdom and modern living.
I specialize in helping women and leaders restore vitality, hormonal balance, and emotional resilience through Ayurvedic medicine, detoxification, nervous system regulation, and soul-level healing. My work blends the precision of clinical Ayurveda with the intuition of energy medicine, breathwork, and ritual. Each session is deeply personal — a conversation between body, mind, and spirit.
I’m known for creating experiences that feel both luxurious and transformative — where science meets sacredness. Whether it’s a Panchakarma detox, a Sacred Alchemy journey, or mentorship through Mata Institute, my approach is always the same: to guide people back to the intelligence of their bodies and the rhythm of Nature.
What sets my work apart is how I weave spiritual depth with grounded science. I’m not interested in quick fixes — I help people rewire how they relate to health, stress, and success itself. Clients often tell me they came to heal their digestion or hormones, but left feeling spiritually reconnected, inspired, and creatively alive.
I’m most proud of founding Mata Institute: School of Ayurveda & Divine Wisdom, a space that brings together Ayurveda, neuroscience, feminine leadership, and creative embodiment. It’s more than a school — it’s a movement toward remembering that healing can be elegant, intelligent, and artful.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
We’re entering an era where ancient wisdom is becoming the new frontier of modern wellness. The next evolution of health isn’t just about biohacking or technology — it’s about remembering the original intelligence of the body, the earth, and consciousness itself.
Ayurveda and holistic medicine are moving from the periphery to the mainstream — not as “alternatives,” but as essential partners in longevity, hormonal balance, and emotional well-being. The most exciting shift I see is how science is finally catching up to what ancient medicine has known for thousands of years: that the mind, gut, and nervous system are deeply intertwined, and that prevention is the truest form of medicine.
In the coming decade, I believe we’ll see a merging of Ayurveda, neuroscience, and energy medicine — personalized protocols based on circadian rhythms, genetics, and emotional intelligence. People are craving meaning, ritual, and embodiment. They don’t just want to look well — they want to feel aligned, purposeful, and spiritually connected.
I also see more women stepping into leadership roles as healers, educators, and entrepreneurs — weaving ancient feminine wisdom with modern innovation. Ayurveda is uniquely positioned to guide that rebirth, reminding us that true success and vitality come from rhythm, rest, and relationship with Nature.
