Daily Inspiration: Meet Ruben Rosado

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ruben Rosado

Hi Ruben, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up I always wanted to be on TV. We grew up in an era where television and broadcast networks were booming, & one of my favorite shows, “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” inspired me to want to be on the silver screen and filmmaking in-general. As I grew, and indulged with life and trying to make my parents proud with all the scholastics, and constantly hearing to face reality and not live in a dream world, I figured it was time to go to college and work and live a regular 9-5, with no motive nor actual goals. It wasn’t until one day I woke up and my whole life turned completely upside down. After having a rough morning, and almost being late to work, I was instructed by my manager and coworkers to get checked at the hospital. So I took their advice and drove there and found out that I had a tumor on my left lymph node. Only to come to a conclusion that I have cancer. I was crying for four days straight in the hospital and confused on, “why me?” Doctors couldn’t figure it out on how I got it, I was tested in every way possible and they told me I was very healthy. So obviously this was beyond me, and I had to go through chemotherapy for about 8 months. However I had a moment that I decided to let go and let God. I prayed and asked for grace and guidance. As I sat and thought to myself, “if I had a second chance in life, I’d do what I love because the time we have here is precious.” But after going through 8 rigorous months, I came out good and strong. I beat it. Now it’s crunch time. I went to different places, read a lot of books and articles, asked for advice and did my own research. I fell in love with the process. I wanted it so bad that if nobody was going to help me, I was still going to find a way through. Like there is no tomorrow. I decided on day during training to try submitting for a film, and guess what, I was booked! From there on out, I started learning the business even more, continue to train so I may stay “sharp,” and broaden my horizons by reaching out to many people all around the world and coming together to bring new ideas and a new venture! The most exciting part is taking a piece of all their advice and continue to learn, grow and improve. So that I may apply it later down in life.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh, struggle is not even the word. Are you willing to risk it all? Is the real question. Not everyone’s journey is the same, and mine is not any sweeter. I went through the worst. From getting sick on the job, to losing my actual job and going homeless. I would reach extreme lengths to do what I need to do, but one thing’s for sure is I’m definitely going to get what needs to be done. But I lost a lot of money, friends, jobs, and I just know that if I go down, I won’t stay down too long. I’ll always find a way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a professional actor. I love to make films, commercials, television shows and any content that will help me convey a message and give inspiration to the audiences. I worked on many different genres but I’ve been recently doing more horror/thriller and drama. However, I’m most proud of my work on “Cinderblock,” by Alexander Quinonez. However, keep a lookout for my next two films, “The Boy from Below” and “Deadly Endings Vol. 1,” those are going to be huge.

How do you think about happiness?
Being alive makes me happy. Being able to enjoy the moment here and with amazing, creative people makes me happy. Knowing I’ve met brilliant minds and great souls makes me happy. Because life on earth is granted and is temporary. We only have one life, so live it like it’s your last. And it couldn’t be more simple. Do what you want to do. Don’t hurt people and follow the golden rule, but do exactly what you love. Doesn’t matter whether it’s sports, music, film and tv business, do it all if you decided to, because nobody is stopping you from doing what you love, making you smile, making you shine but yourself. Stay confident and believe in yourself, and have faith! Sooner or later, you’ll look back and realize how far you’ve gotten despite what everyone has thought or said about you. Just make sure you’re treating well those who treat you right, and never stop learning!
