Hi Roz, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I began my journey in India, surrounded by the vibrant colors and natural beauty that shaped my design aesthetic. Moving to the US in my early 20s, I carried the influences of India with me. Growing up in a family adorned with silk saris and jewels inspired my sense of color, evolving into an androgynous style. Now at 57, my mission is to celebrate aging, embracing wisdom and self-understanding. Through my platform, I illuminate fashion, lifestyle, and the profound wisdom that accompanies the second half of life, promoting self-love and empowerment over the “anti-aging” mindset. My hope is to inspire younger generations to approach the future with anticipation and embrace their unique journeys.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey has had its share of challenges. Navigating the complexities of cultural transition from India to the US presented obstacles. Additionally, as I advocate for celebrating aging, I face resistance against the conventional “anti-aging” mindset. Yet, in the face of criticism, I remain steadfast, drawing motivation from introspection. The key has been emphasizing personal happiness and fulfillment rather than comparing myself to others, a philosophy I’m passionate about passing on to younger generations.

In my work, I strongly believe that when you look good, you feel good, regardless of age. This philosophy is woven into my mission, emphasizing the importance of personal happiness and fulfillment over societal expectations. I aim to inspire individuals to embrace their unique journeys with confidence and celebrate their individuality, fostering a positive and empowering outlook on aging.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck has played a significant role in my journey, both in terms of opportunities and challenges. On the positive side, good luck smiled upon me as women resonated with my Instagram presence, feeling seen and represented. This connection allowed me to become a voice for those who may have felt invisible. Beyond that, navigating the fashion and aging narrative required a stroke of fortune to break through societal norms and advocate for self-love. However, overcoming obstacles wasn’t just about luck; it involved resilience, determination, and a commitment to my mission.
