Daily Inspiration: Meet Roberto De Jesus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roberto De Jesus.

Hi Roberto, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I made it to LA via NY to pursue a career in film direction. I moved to NYC in 1999 for college and stayed for another five years after college. In 2007, I decided to move to LA to further improve my career and try my skills in the big leagues, as they say. As of today, I’ve been able to acquire a substantial amount of Directing credits and I’m currently part of the creative team behind the YouTube page at Guess Jeans.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It certainly has not been a smooth sail. Between time in field as a camera assistant, production assistant and videographer to assisting producers on the corporate side, I invested time to learn the tricks of the trade. I definitely struggled along the way, but what I struggled the most and until this day I still do, is the will to keep pushing when things don’t go as planned. Learning that the obstacle is the way.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an aspiring director. Trained as a Cinematographer and Editor, I’m best known for my stop motion life action shorts I post on social media. It’s a great way to practice my writing skills, all through 1min explorations of scenes and emotional moments in movies that inspire me. I’m currently one of the creatives servicing Guess Jeans YouTube channel.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is the moment you understand the process to achieving your goals. You are no longer describing dreams but identifying goals.
