Daily Inspiration: Meet Rafael Moreira

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rafael Moreira

Hi Rafael, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in Brazil, where music was always a part of my life. From an early age, I was drawn to the guitar, inspired by everything from rock and blues to Brazilian music. My passion for music eventually led me to pursue it professionally, and I took a leap of faith by moving to the U.S. to study at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles.

That decision opened doors I could have never imagined. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of working with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Paul Stanley of KISS, Pink, Christina Aguilera, and Don Felder of The Eagles. I’ve performed on major TV shows like Rockstar INXS/Supernova, The Voice, and American Idol, and I’ve played legendary venues like Madison Square Garden and Wembley Arena.

But beyond working as a sideman, I’ve always been focused on my own music. My band, Magnetico, is my passion project—a power trio where I get to fully express myself as a guitarist, singer, and songwriter. I’ve also been fortunate to release my own solo work and explore different sides of my artistry, including film scoring and music production.

Like any journey, mine hasn’t been without challenges. The music industry is unpredictable, and staying true to my vision while navigating its ups and downs has been a constant balancing act. But through it all, my love for music has kept me going. Whether it’s performing live, producing and recording new material, or teaching and mentoring other musicians, I’m always looking for ways to grow and create.

Music has taken me on an incredible journey, and I’m grateful for every experience—past, present, and future. No matter what’s next, I’ll always be chasing that next song, that next performance, and that next moment of musical magic

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I think moving to LA from Brazil to go to music school was a big transition, but it was fun. Later in between graduating and becoming a professional musician to getting my first big gig with Christina Aguilera was a bit of a struggle, but I also had a lot fun playing local gigs and getting to know a lot of cool people along the way.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m known for working with artists like Pink, Christina Aguilera and Paul Stanley of Kiss to name a few and performing live on various TV Shows like The Voice, American Idol and Rockstar INXS and Supernova on CBS. I have an ability to improvise and create memorable guitar solos live on the spot. As a Singer/Songwriter and Producer, I have two releases as a solo Artist and 3 releases with my Rock group Magnetico.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
