Daily Inspiration: Meet Radiant Reveries

Today we’d like to introduce you to Radiant Reveries.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Karolina: Hi, I am Karolina, one part of Radiant Reveries and wife to Adam, the other half of Radiant Reveries. We are a band, creative team, best friends and married couple for 11 years.

The music started for me in my mid-20s, I sang as a teen, but international modeling took over my life from the tender age of 10 till, well now. Luckily music is on the forefront nowadays and has slowly been soul-feeding for the past 10 years.

I sing, write, play guitar, percussion and a version of stripped-down drums.

With simple beginnings in New York, the band grew steadily in front of a live audience, from galleries to bigger stages like the Mercury Lounge, Rough Trade, Bowery Electric and many more…till the Pandemic hit.

After the wheel and the world stopped, we connected to our gut instinct and started getting the urge and then the clear message to move to Los Angeles. We took the leap across the country in the fall/winter of 2020 leaving New York after 15 years. It’s now been two years, 1 record and an EP on its way, scheduled for 2023, later.

The West coast life has given us a lot, a new lifestyle, tons of nature, inspiration and more space to create. I forever will be the New Yorker I became in the almost 15 years of living there, but I am happy to be a Cali girl now too.

Our newest EP that’s on its way for next year will tell a bit more of our story, so stay tuned & make sure to follow our journey.

Adam: Karolina broke it down pretty well overall. As for me, after a nomadic childhood, I started my musical journey in my mid 20’s in Seattle. Before that era, I spent time as a college baseball player in Ohio and as a model in NYC/Europe.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Karolina: It has been bumpy road with a nice view and a destination that is the journey. First of, our pandemic move was an unexpected one, but also a window we just knew flung open in that timeframe.

When we first got the calling, we were not thinking to leave NY, but over that pandemic summer, more and more signs and collaborators came forward to encourage us to come west. Together with our adventurous nature, we said, let’s do it.

The bold get rewarded, they say.

We landed in a great spot, found our dear and now, some really great new friends and have maneuvert through the uncertainties of a new city and a new world.

Like most artists, we had the struggles of survival. Just like surfing, high waves come to carry you further and then sometimes you get the clean-out set, and then nothing, flat-out nothing. But all is temporary, so we keep creating on.

At the end of the day, it’s our love, family, friends and the music that smooths out the bumps in the road.

Adam: Nothing in life is smooth as we want or think it will be and I’ve had my struggles just like the rest of us. All I know is you need to do your best to learn and feed from the struggle and keep the f*ck going.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are Radiant Reveries, an independent band born in NYC and now out of LA. Our music is a mix of alt-rock, vintage rock, folk and psychedelic rock.

Our latest Album “Let Go” is out now.

It was ready right when the pandemic hit, but we waited to release the first single “Missing” till April of 2021.

We are extremely proud of “Let Go” and Adam made our New York homage music video to the hero song.

Check it out on YouTube https://youtu.be/GbHbikyZJvA

Also, we are so happy to have made the music video to “Woman” with LA Director Celine Comolet in LA. We utilized the Malibu hills as well as the epic beaches bordering on Ventura county.

“Missing” was shot by director/editor Alexander Evan Morales in New York pre-pandemic – a true masterpiece of mv magic.

What really sets us apart is our Love and our music is not bound to trends. We create and are not afraid to be unique, use our voices in a raw way and sing about matters of the heart.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Karolina: We learned that we as people, really need one another. From touch, collaboration to being able to just see one another without crossing the street in fear. The Crisis also highlighted how good we had it and how important and fragile everything is, from travel to playing live music to being able to move around the world. Slowly we are getting into our new world set of mind, but we are all forever changed and as a human race, we have to work through this collective trauma.

Adam: That toilet paper is not a sustainable dietary source.
