Today we’d like to introduce you to Prymrr
Hi Prymrr, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Of course! I started dancing when I was just two years old, growing up in Bakersfield, California. Dance was always my first love, and it quickly became my way of expressing myself. By the time I was eight, I started recording music, and that’s when I began experimenting with rap styles. It wasn’t long before I had the chance to open for big artists, which was a huge turning point for me, especially since I was only eleven at the time!
My debut single, ‘GAMBLiN’,’ really put me on the map, and that led to one of the most exciting moments of my career—appearing in Sia’s music video for ‘Never Give Up.’ That video has over 163 million views now, which still blows my mind! Since then, I’ve released several songs that mean a lot to me, like ‘Take Over,’ ‘No Label,’ ‘MON$T3R$,’ and ‘WYA.’ My journey has been all about staying true to myself and using my music to share my story and connect with my fans.
It hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge has made me stronger and more determined to keep pushing forward. My goal is to inspire others to be real, to embrace who they are, and to never give up on their dreams. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me next!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—far from it. The music and entertainment industry can be really tough, especially when you start as young as I did. One of the biggest challenges was balancing my passion for music and dance with the pressures of growing up in the public eye. People often see the success, but they don’t always realize the hard work, late nights, and personal sacrifices that go into it.
Another struggle was finding my voice and staying true to myself in an industry that often tries to mold you into something you’re not. There were times when I felt like I had to fit into certain boxes or be someone I wasn’t to succeed, but I learned that being authentic is the most important thing. It wasn’t easy to stand my ground, but I knew I had to stay true to who I am.
Dealing with criticism and negativity is another challenge. When you put yourself out there, especially on social media, not everyone is going to support you. I’ve faced my share of haters, but I’ve learned to focus on the positive and remember why I’m doing what I’m doing. It’s about making music that resonates with people and inspires them.
There have been moments of doubt and insecurity, but those struggles have also made me stronger and more resilient. They’ve taught me to keep pushing forward, no matter what, and to believe in myself even when it feels like the odds are against me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’d love to share! My work is all about expressing myself through music, dance, and storytelling. I’m known for my unique blend of rap and modern trends, and I specialize in creating music that’s real, raw, and relatable. From a young age, I’ve been deeply passionate about using my voice to connect with others, whether through my lyrics, my performances, or my presence on social media.
What I’m most proud of is how my music resonates with people. Songs like ‘GAMBLiN’,’ ‘Take Over,’ and ‘No Label’ reflect my journey and the challenges I’ve faced, and it means so much to me when fans tell me that my music has inspired or helped them in some way. I’m also incredibly proud of my appearance in Sia’s music video for ‘Never Give Up.’ That experience was a huge milestone in my career, and it pushed me to keep evolving as an artist.
What sets me apart is my authenticity. I’ve always been committed to staying true to myself and my story, even when it’s not the easiest path. I’m not afraid to be vulnerable in my music and show the world who I really am. I think that’s something people connect with—my willingness to be real, whether it’s about my struggles, my ambitions, or just what I’m feeling in the moment.
Another thing that makes me different is my background as a dancer. Dance is a huge part of who I am, and it influences the way I approach music and performance. I bring that energy and movement into everything I do, creating a style that’s uniquely mine.
At the end of the day, my work is about making an impact and inspiring others to be fearless, to embrace their true selves, and to keep pushing forward, no matter what obstacles they face.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
The COVID-19 crisis taught me some really valuable lessons, both personally and professionally. One of the biggest things I learned is the importance of adapting to change. The pandemic threw everyone into a situation we couldn’t have predicted, and it forced me to rethink how I approach my work and my life. I had to find new ways to stay creative and connected with my fans, even when I couldn’t perform or collaborate in person.
I also realized how important it is to take care of your mental health. The isolation and uncertainty were tough, and I had to learn to be kinder to myself and to find balance in the middle of all the chaos. I spent a lot of time reflecting and focusing on what really matters to me, which helped me grow not just as an artist but as a person.
Another lesson was the power of community. Even though we were all physically distant, I felt more connected to my fans and supporters than ever before. We were all going through something together, and it reminded me how much we need each other. That sense of community and support was a huge source of strength for me during those tough times.
Finally, the crisis taught me to appreciate the little things and not take anything for granted. Whether it’s being able to perform live, spend time with loved ones, or just enjoy a normal day, I’ve learned to value those moments more than ever. It was a challenging time, but it also pushed me to grow in ways I never expected, and I’m grateful for the lessons it brought.
