Daily Inspiration: Meet Pauli Camou

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pauli Camou.

Hi Pauli, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Pauli Camou is a singer-songwriter and composer originally from Hermosillo, Sonora, and a graduate of Berklee College of Music. She has shared the stage with artists such as Aída Cuevas and Daymé Arocena, participated on a musical video with Natalia Lafourcade, and collaborated with Javier Limón for Sony Music Entertainment.

In 2025, she released her debut album, “Lava y Miel” (Lava and Honey), a musical and spiritual exploration of the emotional duality of human beings. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California, where she is working on her second album, “Seguiré mi viaje” (I Will Continue My Journey), and preparing for her US tour, The Mexican Songbook.

Her music reflects a deep commitment to art as a path of self-discovery, connection, and transformation.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Im not sure if there are no smooth roads when you’re born in this planet, maybe everyone experience it different, but we are here to grow by experiencing all the polarities that our path includes. I can talk a lot about different struggles that i’ve faced, including vocal chords surgery and having to stop talking for a month. But to be honest, my biggest struggle I think it is to feel at peace with who I am, how I evolve, and creating from a vulnerable and organic place where you let everyone in. Art is a sensitive road, I keep reminding myself that I’m stronger that I believe.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Well, I believe that we are all unique just by being humans, what sets me – or someone else – is just what you do with your own uniqueness. How you embrace it, the space you give yourself to only be. I now my songs come from a really organic place, and I’ve decided that I do want that. Even if it feels scary to create from such a vulnerable and imperfect place. Whats sets me apart from others is the constant decision of giving myself the freedom and permission to just be who I am, and to create from there. Im proud of this, it hasn’t been easy to approach art and life from this place of playfulness, healing, and just being raw, specially on an industry that sets standards, and asks for trends, for products that sell.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Oh I have a lot! Probably being in nature, barefoot, climbing trees and creating all those stories in them. Being able to be in the present moment without having to remind myself about it. Hugging my dogs, being amazed at the ocean, feeling the ground and running around, writing poems to the moon and having the ability to be always surprised. I love that about kids, and I always return to it. Approaching music from curiosity, instead of technique, and from having fun instead of having a goal, or a deadline, or feeling the pressure on feeling pressured. Sunsets, hugging, laughing, being where I was without anything being more important or real than that.
