Today we’d like to introduce you to Pargoal Arab.
Hi Pargoal, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
While I was a student at UCLA, I developed an interest in visiting dessert spots, taking photos, and sharing them on my Instagram story. As my passion grew, I expanded from desserts to brunch places and eventually to restaurants in general. When COVID-19 hit, I had accumulated so many food photos that I decided to create a dedicated Instagram account to document my foodie journey. Through starting this account, I discovered a vibrant foodie community.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In the beginning, it was easy to post everything, but gaining traction was a challenge. I looked to the foodie community for inspiration, and they motivated me to keep going. Once I hit a goal, a new challenge popped up—staying consistent with posting and remaining relevant. Another ongoing challenge has been evolving with new changes and trends, like the shift from photos to reels.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a foodie and content creator who loves sharing my foodie journey by documenting must-visit restaurants. I also like to mix in some travel content. For example, I enjoy creating 20-second recaps of each place I visit—it’s my way of capturing a quick snapshot of the experience. Lately, I’ve been into the trend of romanticizing everyday life, so I’ve started documenting little moments during my travels, too. These days, I’m especially drawn to cafes—they’ve become a big focus of my content.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
With all the challenges, it’s important to remind myself why I created the account in the first place—to share my love for food and have fun with it. But it’s not always easy to stay connected to that original reason, especially when things like low engagement, falling behind on trends, or feeling like other accounts are growing faster start to get in your head. Still, going back to that “why” helps ground me and keeps me motivated, even when the journey feels overwhelming.
