Daily Inspiration: Meet Omayma Ramzy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Omayma Ramzy.

Hi Omayma , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Omayma. I’m a celebrity esthetician, makeup artist, and the founder of Omayma Skin – a brand rooted in ritual, heritage, and the quiet luxury of intentional care.

My story begins in England, where I was born, but it truly unfolded across North Africa. Morocco shaped my childhood through my mother, and Egypt shaped my identity through my father. The beauty rituals I grew up around – oils, botanicals, simplicity, intention – stayed with me long before I could name them.

At 25, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue makeup and, in a way, the mythology of Hollywood. Ten years later, after building a career that took me inside some of the most extraordinary homes in the city and earning my green card as an artist, one truth remained constant: I was endlessly captivated by skin. By its stories, its transformation, by the intimacy of helping someone feel more at home in themselves.

Eventually, the quiet voice inside me became impossible to ignore – the desire to bring the North African beauty traditions I was raised on to a modern audience. Omayma Skin was born from that calling: a blend of cultural heritage, performance-driven formulas, and a belief that skincare is a ritual of self-respect.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not quite. Learning who you are in Los Angeles is its own kind of pilgrimage. It’s one of the most magical cities in the world, but finding your people — your true community — can take a moment, sometimes a year, sometimes longer.

The most difficult chapter came during Covid. I had just lost my father, ended a toxic relationship, and was navigating the same profound isolation we all felt — except I couldn’t go “home.” It was one of the most brutal seasons of my life, but also the one that revealed who I really was.

Somehow, in all of that grief and stillness, I found a spark. I poured everything I had into my passion. I opened a $10,000 credit card and used it to launch my brand — no funding, no safety net, just sheer conviction. I packed every order myself, begged my model friends to step in front of the camera, and watched as the people around me showed up with more love and generosity than I ever expected. It turns out Los Angeles is softer and kinder than it first appears.

It was the first time I truly felt that I had a voice — something real to say, something that reflected the years of work and artistry behind me. I hadn’t realized until then that I had crossed a threshold in my career, and that I was finally building something that felt unmistakably my own.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a celebrity esthetician and makeup artist, but at the heart of my work I am a storyteller through skin, through texture, and through the rituals we return to. I specialize in creating skin that looks alive: luminous, sculpted, and effortlessly refined. Over the years, I’ve become known for my hands-on approach, my obsession with ingredients, and the way I blend North African beauty rituals with modern, results-driven techniques.

My work has always lived at the intersection of skin health and artistry. Whether I am on set creating a red carpet moment or in the treatment room transforming a client’s complexion, my philosophy remains the same. Skin should feel cared for, not corrected.

One of the things I am most proud of is building Omayma Skin from the ground up, inspired by the rituals I grew up with and the landscapes that shaped me. Every formula reflects my heritage, from botanical oils to antioxidant-rich extracts, all created to make skin feel nourished, supported, and radiant.

What sets me apart is the duality I carry: an English and North African upbringing, ten years spent inside Hollywood’s most private rooms, and a deep respect for both tradition and science. Clients often tell me they feel seen, heard, and truly cared for, and I hold that very close. My work is not only about skin. It is about connection, confidence, and helping people feel more at home in themselves.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I have always seen risk as a conversation with your future self. It is the moment you decide to trust the vision you hold, even if the ground beneath you feels unsteady. Moving to Los Angeles at twenty-five was the first real leap I ever took. People often ask me which is better, England or America. England has the comfort and safety net, while America offered me none of that, especially as a visa holder. No healthcare, no dental, no “what if I fail” plan, no cushion to fall back on.

But America also gives you the chance to win in a way the UK rarely does. It loves a success story, and no one understands the beauty of that more than an immigrant. Launching my brand on a ten-thousand-dollar credit card felt terrifying, but it was also the clearest, easiest decision I ever made.

To me, risk is simply choosing to believe in yourself before anyone else does. It is romantic in its own way, because it asks you to imagine a life far bigger than the one you are living, and then step toward it with your whole heart.
