Today we’d like to introduce you to Nosa Eke Jr.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always had a passion for fashion. I worked in a major Hip Hop lifestyle clothing store called d.e.m.o. I was young and was exposed to the fashion industry that catered to people who looked like me. In 2001, I went to my first fashion trade show (MAGIC) in Las Vegas and from there, I was officially hooked. Fast forward a couple of years later, I became a fashion sales representative for a couple of streetwear brands on the west coast. Being a sales rep, I’ve had the opportunity to assist in styling major artists for award shows and videos. being in the fashion world, I have seen the many trends and fades come and go. I love every part of it.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being in the fashion sales industry, the road has not always been smooth. I have seen the fall of the Urban designer market to the rise and many evolutions of the streetwear market. Many great brands have went out of business but some great ones remain. As a fashion sales rep, the most important thing to know is it’s all about your relationships. Trends and clothing styles fade away but if you have strong relationships, you can stand the test of time.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Fashion sales representative at VSLA and Digital marketer. I love to create and sell!!
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I wouldn’t be where I’m at today if it wasn’t for the help of Kenyatta Sands. He is the founder of Vision Sales LA and also pioneers in the Urban fashion world with his brand POSITIVE WEAR CLOTHING. Also, I must shout out my lovely wife Danielle Williams-Eke, who is the Design Director over at 11 Honore. Her amazing talent keeps me motivated and inspired.
