Today we’d like to introduce you to Noe Tchouamo.
Hi Noe, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Cameroon, and from an early age I was drawn to storytelling not just through words, but through movement, music, and the visual world. I came to the U.S. as an international student/refugee , chasing a dream that felt both urgent and impossible: to tell stories that matter, across cultures and mediums.
My journey hasn’t been linear. I’ve faced challenges that tested my faith, identity, and resilience : cultural barriers, financial uncertainty. But each obstacle taught me something deeper about myself and the kind of work I want to create. I leaned into those experiences and began crafting screenplays, short films, and creative projects that reflect the intersection of struggle, hope, and redemption.
Now, I’m not just telling stories I’m producing them. I’m currently developing a series called “Cloning Season” and writing a novel called “La Petite Elise” while also managing creative projects that support other artists and entrepreneurs In LA . I’m passionate about building a bridge between African and American narratives, creating work that’s bold, human, and spiritually grounded.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. As an African creative in a TV production program here in the U.S., I often feel like I’m walking a tightrope between two worlds. I carry a different cultural lens, and while that’s a strength, it can also be isolating. There’s an unspoken pressure to conform to a certain narrative or aesthetic that doesn’t always reflect where I come from or what I stand for. Sometimes I’m the only African in the room, and that comes with both pride and weight like having to constantly explain, translate, or prove the value of my perspective.
Financially, it’s been a grind. Being far from home with limited resources, I’ve had to make tough choices between survival and creativity. Equipment, locations, talent all the things that make a production come alive cost money, and passion alone doesn’t pay the bills. I’ve poured everything I have into my work, and I’m currently seeking investors and collaborators who believe in the kind of stories I’m trying to tell ones that connect cultures, challenge systems, and speak to something real.
But despite the challenges, I stay grounded and focus on the main objective. Every obstacle has pushed me to grow, to be better, and to create work that’s not only meaningful but necessary for the society.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a filmmaker and storyteller at heart writing, directing, and producing projects that explore identity, faith, justice, and human connection. My work is deeply rooted in both my Cameroonian heritage and my lived experience as a Black immigrant in America. I specialize in narrative storytelling that’s raw, emotional, and cinematic.Whether it’s a short film, a TV pilot, or a brand story that needs heart.
Right now, I’m looking for funds to produce a film titled ABBA , which is based on a true Story involving a false accusation, faith, and the fight to reclaim one’s truth in the heart of Johannesburg in South Africa.I’m also developing a TV pilot called Cloning Season, a character-driven crime drama that delves into the underworld of scams and survival through the lens of a Cameroonian(African at large )student in Los Angeles. Both of these projects reflect what I stand for: bold stories that cross borders and challenge perceptions.
What sets me apart is my voice I bring a cross-cultural depth and spiritual honesty that isn’t afraid to confront pain or wrestle with hope. I don’t just want to entertain; I want to disrupt, to awaken, to heal. I’m most proud of the way I’ve stayed true to my vision even when it wasn’t easy, and how I’ve continued creating against all odds.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is truth. Not just facts, but emotional and spiritual truth that connects people and reveals what’s real. I’ve experienced what it’s like to be misunderstood or silenced, and that’s why I create: to give voice to the overlooked and to shine light in dark places. If my work can help someone feel seen or understood, then I’m doing what I’m meant to do.
