It really started when Plex bought Rex his first piece of gear. No big plan, no studio—just support and a belief in something bigger. That moment lit the fire. From there, we started messing around with beats, writing, recording—just figuring it out as we went.
It wasn’t about trying to “make it” at first. It was about expression, therapy, turning our thoughts into sound. We were just two creatives with a lot to say and no fear of starting from scratch.
That’s how Night Souljers was born. Built from late nights, real conversations, and a lot of trial and error. It’s always been about passion and purpose. We’re not here to follow trends—we’re here to tell our story, our way.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. The road’s been rough—more than most people see from the outside. One of the hardest parts was when Rex had to go through a period of mourning. Losing someone changes everything. And in that space, music took on a whole new meaning. It wasn’t just creativity—it was survival.
Plex took on a supporting role during that time. We weren’t just building music—we were leaning on each other, holding it all together. That bond, that loyalty, it’s deeper than music.
We’ve faced a lot: loss, financial struggles, doubt, isolation. But through all that, we never stopped. If anything, the pain sharpened the purpose. That’s why Night Souljers isn’t just a name—it’s a reflection of everything we’ve had to fight through.

We also find real happiness in growth—not just as artists, but as people. Seeing how far we’ve come, even through the hardest moments, reminds us that we’re doing something real. And doing it side by side as brothers—that bond means everything.
We’re also deeply grateful for the support we’ve gotten from our families. They’ve had our backs through the ups and downs, and that kind of love and belief hits different. It reminds us why we do this—not just for ourselves, but for the people who believe in us.
