Daily Inspiration: Meet Nadine Emrich

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadine Emrich

Nadine, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I feel like my journey started young. I had a more challenging childhood and I would emerge myself in creative things for solace. Coming from a broken home and not having much love growing up. I learned to love myself through acting, and singing. I was lucky, and also brave to take on the world and find a better me. Create myself, make many mistakes and learn each lesson. I feel like people like myself have had a huge disadvantage in life. But I learned to over come every challenge. Not having love and guidance growing up can make you a late bloomer. I am barely tapping into my potential. Where I am now I fought for. I never let myself go to darker places. I just put the darkness in my work. I have been working more in Movies and TV as an actress. I just wrapped a film My African wedding in America. I feel like each acting role or song is step closer to my bigger goals.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been smooth for me. Struggles along the way would be not really having a network coming into this business. I have had to really dedicate and commit my whole life to creating. I wanted to really just be a creative mind. I think not a day of my life has gone by not writing something or memorizing a lines or at least thinking of my next move. I have also had many blocks from not knowing my worth. Or feeling unworthy at times. I also struggle with fibromyalgia. So I fight pain a lot. But it doesn’t win, I win over my pain. One thing I have learned is to have grit. I am definitely a very strong minded person.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an actress, and singer. I think what sets me apart from others is I am not very pretentious. I see the world through a rose colored glass. I feel lucky to wear my heart on my sleeve and really connect with others that way. I remember when I studied acting in NYC a classmate of mine said “when I met you I thought you were this cali girl that had to be fake, but you’re not, you are really this kind person!” People kind of think I am this way at first because it’s hard to believe I am genuinely kind. And teachers have said to me “I am a breath of fresh air, when I walk in a room!”
I am very proud of my music as well. I write all my lyrics and even shoot some of my music videos.
I feel like for acting I am leaning into more comedy. The last film I did I was the comic relief of the seriousness of the film. Comedy is fun and makes people laugh and happy. So I think that is where my heart wants to go. But I can always cry on Que if I have too!

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I have a very cute cat her name is Aphrodite.
