Malik, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After receiving multiple compliments regarding my massage skills in my personal life, I decided to enroll in massage school. After completing school, I continued to work a 9 – 5 while doing massage on the side (primarily evenings and weekends). Eventually, my clientele grew to the point where I was unable to do both. I quit my job to become a full-time mobile massage therapist, and the rest, as they say, was history. By far, one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Financially speaking, bad days, weeks, and sometimes months just come with the territory…but so do good ones. All in all, it’s a beautiful struggle.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a mobile massage therapist. I’ve been formally trained in multiple massage modalities, and I’m both a body worker and an energy worker. I am uniquely me, and the energy that I bring is uniquely my own. Fortunately for me, it continues to resonate with those that experience my touch.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My advice would be to pace yourself. Injuries are real and so is burnout.
