Daily Inspiration: Meet Lizzy Passion

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lizzy Passion.

Lizzy Passion

Hi Lizzy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I got Texas in my roots, but California grew my fruit! I moved here about eight years ago, having been born and raised in Texas. Now I’m married with two kids and am starting to progress in my music career. As most artists know, moving forces you to start over in a lot of ways. I don’t think we allow ourselves recovery periods in the music industry. There were several years where I took a break from pursuing a career in music and simply enjoyed being a musician without any strings attached. It gave me a fresh perspective and a new wave of motivation. There are many highs and lows to a career in music, and it can be quite the ride! But it’s worth it. And where I am now is, in a lot of ways, the same place I’ve always been, a human being who enjoys being creative.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth roads are boring. I’ve been off-roading through life! And have a few bumps and bruises to show for it. But the view is amazing! There have been so many learning curves for me. I really struggle with networking, and the business side of music is like trying to walk in quicksand. I still have a difficult time with it. Also, it took many, many years to really figure out what my style is. Lots of trial and error.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I really love that I don’t work alone. I have friends that I get to perform with regularly. Our area of expertise is a little bit country, a little bit rock, and a whole lot of fun. We’re certainly not the only ones who do it, but I think what makes us so great is that we prioritize having a good time. We don’t take ourselves too seriously!

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I think paying attention to and being a fan of other musicians is important! Supporting other artists and learning from them is valuable.
