Daily Inspiration: Meet Lisa Schultz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Schultz.

Hi Lisa , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my career as a Certified Nutritionist and Personal Trainer back in 2006. My first business venture began with The Wedding Trainer, in Chicago, IL, helping brides-to-be conquer their wellness goals before the big day.

My plans changed in 2011 after a near-death experience; I was hit by a car while crossing the street. After a few years of surgeries and intense physical therapy, I was still experiencing chronic pain and mental anguish. With many doctors giving her different opinions, I decided to figure out for myself how to heal my body naturally.

Not only did I cure my chronic pain from the accident, but I also found relief from issues that had been plaguing me since childhood.

In 2013 I brought my method to a Physical Therapy clinic where I worked as Wellness Director, helping patients find relief from their inflammation through lifestyle changes.

The success I saw in my patients encouraged me to launch a new business venture in 2016. The Verdura Method is my next iteration to bring personalized nutrition and wellness to everyone.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life is never a smooth road. Aside from the car accident, I’ve had two children, the pandemic, moving to different areas, and have had to navigate my business through each transition. Becoming a mom was a bigger transition, very hard at times, but its what led me to the idea of creating an online program. My hands are usually very full, its hard to do everything for everyone. Having an online course has allowed me to continue working with more flexibility.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a certified Personal Trainer, Life Coach and Nutritionist. All of my certifications have helped me look at the body in a 360 way. I specialize in inflammation, and helping clients connect more with their body’s needs without an drastic all or nothing mindset. I am the most proud of the legacy I leave with each person I help. This new way of approaching wellness will be passed down to their families, and we can finally get rid of the toxic unhealthy approaches to food and wellness.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My parents, siblings and close friends have always been my cheerleaders. I am very lucky to have an incredibly supportive network. I read a lot and utilize self-help books to push me forward when I have any negative self talk or feel a bit of imposter syndrome.
