Today we’d like to introduce you to Liat Zucker.
Hi Liat, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Liat, widely known as Lia Pilates
When I moved to the United States in my mid-20s, I struggled with weight gain due to the change in food and lifestyle. After carrying more than 60 pounds for several years, I reached a moment of clarity: I needed to change my habits. I began studying nutrition deeply—not to follow another trendy diet, but to truly understand the benefits of every ingredient and how it affects the body.
During this time, I also started taking Pilates classes. I fell in love with Joseph Pilates’ method. For the first time, I felt like I was exactly where I belonged. I watched the weight come off, my inches shrink, and my body transform—strong, toned, and balanced from the inside out.
That experience changed my life. I knew this was my mission: to support other women and share everything I had learned. Pilates gave me the tools to heal, to strengthen, and to reconnect with myself, and I wanted to help others find that same power.
For the past 14 years, I have worked with hundreds of women—during pregnancy, post-pregnancy, through injuries and recovery, and those simply seeking to build strength, confidence, and a toned, healthy body.
I currently operate two Pilates studio locations: one in Sherman Oaks and another in Woodland Hills, with plans to expand soon. My studios are intentionally designed for small, intimate classes. I believe every body deserves attention, correction, and guidance. I teach movement from the inside out—creating true awareness, not just repetition.
Pilates is deep work. It connects you to the inner layers of your muscles, your breath, and your body’s natural intelligence. Breathing is the key—when you breathe with intention, the body responds, opens, and becomes stronger.
As a single mother of three girls, I encourage my clients not to forget themselves. I remind them to take this one hour to breathe in, reconnect with their bodies, and exhale everything that no longer serves them.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Through my way I gave birth for 3 of my daughters, while I was in my early 3 rd pregnancy I got divorced and still did not forget to breathe in and exhale all out .
Keep my studio , clientele and family with positive vibes .
Let me tell you it was challenging but I discovered how strong women are , how powerful and beautiful we are .
And I bring this energy and mindfulness to each of my class.
Courage my clients to believe in
themselves.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
in my studio each client get her attention.
I believe that each one of us need this instructor to teach and direct them , how to move correctly, breath and focus your own powerhouse.
Sometimes it’s hard for me to say why my clients choose my studio to be part of their daily routine but I believe that the energy and the smile and the way I let them feel makes is different from any other place
What makes you happy?
My girls are my daily strength
I love what I do so I wake every day happy with a lot of good vibes to move other people and let them feel good .
