Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Martin-Brown.
Hi Leah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It has honestly been quite a wild ride! My story began in the beach town of Burleigh Heads located in Queensland, Australia. This is where I grew up and started playing, writing and singing whenever I could. At the beginning of 2014, I was invited to Los Angeles, CA USA to perform at a label showcase and I never turned back. I have been based in Los Angeles, CA ever since – however, I did briefly move to Stockholm, Sweden for nine months during the pandemic to work on a new album.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Working in the Music Industry is absolutely never a smooth road! Add in Visa applications, moving so far away from family and friends and building a new life along with that career and you have insanely huge obstacles. Finding my feet in Los Angeles and figuring out who was genuine and who wasn’t was definitely a huge struggle. Constantly being told “No” is also really difficult but I have come to a point in my career that I understand that what I do is not for everyone and I am happy forging my own path with the Team I have working with me.
All of this pales in comparison to the present struggles of not being able to return to visit my family in Australia. I’ll take the Music Industry any day over this current situation.

My name is Leah Martin-Brown and I am a vocalist, songwriter and guitarist. As well as working as a solo artist, I am the frontwoman for the LA-based rock band – Evol Walks. I have been blessed to be able to travel all around the globe working on my music. I think that my constant drive to push myself creatively and to never give up sets me apart from others.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am a HUGE nerd! I love to read, play video games, collect Funko Pop dolls… the whole bit. I am fascinated by Ancient and Modern History and also love to watch documentaries about the deep ocean.
