Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauryn Lee.
Hi Lauryn, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I went to beauty school right after high school. Started assisting at Butterfly Loft Salon for about a year. Then got my own chair and became an independent stylist. After about a year and half of taking my own clients, I became a part of Pulp Riot’s Riot Squad and was able to travel to Mexico with them for a hair retreat. A year after joining Riot Squad, I became an official Pulp Riot Educator and created a YouTube channel based on hair.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think the fact that I didn’t take the normal route to college, like all of my friends and family, I definitely felt pressure to succeed and prove that you can still be successful even without having to go to college. During cosmetology school, I always volunteered for every event that they held so that I could get the most out of my education there. Then once I began assisting, I tried to always find work even if it was for free so that I could learn as much as possible before getting my own chair. Once I got my own chair at the salon and I started to build my clientele, I tried to take on any project to get as much experience as possible. And then on my weekends, I would spend creating content that I wanted to create on hair models. I definitely love to keep myself busy and to never stop learning.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a hairstylist that specializes in creative color, blonding and color corrections. I do a lot of huge transformations from clients that have dark hair and wanting to be blonde. A lot of my work can be seen on my Instagram and YouTube channel.

I find happiness is spending time with those that I love.
