Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Sweeney.
Hi Lauren, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my journey of leadership and career confidence development over 20 years ago. I have always had an interest in personal and professional development and worked in the corporate, non-profit, and entrepreneurial spaces. I found that the more I grew myself, the greater impact I could have. After building my own business for many years and leading a team of 100+, I was looking for leadership development in another arena. I wanted to support a company that was a global leadership development resource. Enter Rise Up For You. Nada Nasserdeen, the CEO of the company, has a brilliant mind for creating sustainable systems that support companies and individuals to foster incredible cultures, scale, and grow sustainably. Now, I’m the VP of Business Development for the company as well as a Core Coach and Trainer. I love the impact, the culture of the company, and the creativity while being stretched myself. I have grown in my identity as a whole person (wife, mom, and executive), vs. just being identified with my career. I’m honored to work to support the companies and individuals we partner with around the world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest challenge has been within me. Seeing my “monkey chatter” that tells me I’m not enough unless I’m doing and achieving more. Bringing compassion for myself and not identifying with my worth in terms of how much I’m producing. The identity shift in seeing myself as a whole person, worthy, and incredible separate from my career and personal achievements, has been incredible. As I have grown, I’ve been able to coach individuals to relate to themselves differently and truly build a life “they’re proud of”.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As the VP of Business Development for Rise Up For You, I work with our CEO to sustain and grow the company. We support business, leadership, and career confidence for individuals and companies. We train on soft skills such as emotional intelligence, communication, conflict management, rebuilding confidence, and time management. We seek out partners that support the work we are doing and have a large International Team of incredible people that work with our clients. I’m proud that we have the tangible curriculum to create real transformation. I have seen company cultures shift 180 degrees, individuals launch and re-build incredible businesses, and feel great about themselves. I have seen our clients value themselves, see real change made and really know what they want and how they’ll create it.
How do you define success?
I define success as the ability to create transformation for others while maintaining boundaries and a life that I’m proud of. Success is having a feeling of peace, knowing I did a great job, supported others, and built a sustainable impact.
