Daily Inspiration: Meet Kyron Wilson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyron Wilson.

Hi Kyron, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
The origin of my craft came about after an eventful freshman year of college to say the least. At the end of that first year, a close friend of mine (Damien) and I took a chance with an out-of-state internship. The experience itself help refine my idea of what path I truly wanted to take, so whenever we decided that we learned all we could from that experience, we took matters into our own hands. After a long road trip back to the state, we ended up congregating with most of our friend group. During that time, we (Damien and Ugonna) came up with the idea to start an audio and video production team on our school’s campus (Action Awareness). This led to many collaborative opportunities and creative awakenings. Acting as a facilitator and a sort of creative director of the group, I wanted to become more hands-on with the production side of things.

Borrowing other members’ equipment, I began to become one of the key content creators for the group. Making videos, graphics and conduct photography. Eventually, I was blessed with a camera that Damien had lying around and soon after I was invited to my first creative photoshoot (a B.A.P.S. inspired shoot) as a photographer by Ugonna. Ever since then, I have been involved in many different projects and collaborations that all cater towards capturing the true essence of people as individuals. I have also started and lead my own creative “large-scale” projects that worked towards showing the variety and capabilities of individuals within a group setting. I would say I got to where I am today by creating genuine connections with everyone I have worked with. Through understanding their story and their purpose for creating I have been able to develop fruitful relationships that reflect in my work.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As with any craft, the road has not been smooth in the slightest. I feel as though it hasn’t been smooth because I haven’t convinced myself that what I am doing is easy. Personally, anything simple or “easy” I tend to put off or not really try at all. When it came to photography and content creation as a whole, I take the matter very seriously. Not serious to the point that I’m not having fun with my work, but serious to the point of how much time and effort I put into my craft. We’ve all heard that we are all our own worst critics, well that phrase explains my creative process to the T. I always have these random explosive ideas that I know could create a large impact amidst my audience and a larger crowd. I usually write down all of the ideas down in my journal or somewhere in my notes. The problem that I often run into is not acting on the ideas when they are fresh, so they tend to fade out or if in the planning process something does go as planned. So, in the end about 1/5 of my idea actually leave the drafts. Another thing is that I’m all about exponential growth and reaching higher heights. I’ve made it a personal goal to make each product better than the next so that puts a lot of pressure behind the actual releasing of some of my works. The field that I’ve entered is definitely oversaturated with similar content, so making each experience and product unique is essential to me. It’s my attempt at leave my mark on history.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a content creator who specializes in photography, videography/film, and graphic design. I am mostly known for my photography under my alias LenzLootr, as that is what my journey started in. I am most proud of the fact that I am continuing to develop the life that I chose rather than one that was imposed upon me by my surroundings or society. For a long time, I thought about life in a more logistical and “realistic sense”. That was until I gained the numerous experiences from college and young adulthood that revealed to me that there is so much more I could achieve by following my passions. Through hard work, consistency and actual application of skills, I have been creating the life that I have always aspired to have without having to compromise with realism. Your life is what you make of it. I’m not one to really glorify myself amongst others because I usually just let the results of my work speak for themselves. However, if I were to speak on what separates me from most is that I don’t give up. I may not be on time with everything, but I make sure that the wait is worth it. This ability has allowed me to attract some of the most illustrious and inspiring individuals of whatever area I am in. Being in the presence of greatness, I take every opportunity to learn what I can from them and how to further develop my process for creating.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I am pretty friendly with creators because I know how hard it is to find a group of like-minded individuals. If someone were to state that they wished to work with me or if they simply bring an idea to the table, I am usually always down to make it happen. In terms of support, a simple like, comment, or share on any of my social media platforms goes a long way and is appreciated. Or if you know/hear of someone needing any of the services I provide, bring up my name if it comes to mind. I can’t even put into words how much that has helped me in my journey thus far.
