Daily Inspiration: Meet Kristen DiMercurio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen DiMercurio.

Hi Kristen, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m an actor, voice actor, and content creator! I started in theater, made my way to voice over, and sometimes can even be seen in a commercial or two. I moved to LA in 2021, which was the beginning of a pretty chaotic time for the entertainment business. Hollywood was turned upside down, and it hasn’t really gotten its footing since. Seeing that, I realized if I wanted to continue working as an actor, I’d have to focus on producing my own work. Since then I wrapped a 2 season fiction podcast which I wrote, directed, and produced. I’ve also grown a pretty sizeable social media following and create new content almost daily. After almost 5 years, I feel I’m finally in a great position to start creating some of the art and media I’d like to see out in the world!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When I decided to be an actor full time, I knew I was signing up for a pretty bumpy ride. The work is inconsistent, the industry standard is constantly changing, and if I’m being honest, it seems like even the veterans are sort of making things up as they go. I think the trick is to find joy in the ups and downs, because this career will take you to some wild places. I meet all kinds of people, and I never know what the next day will bring. I also find a lot of satisfaction in problem solving and adapting. I’m always changing up how I work, and figuring out how to build a career as an actor has been a very challenging and very rewarding puzzle.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Last year I was able to build a large social media following, and I thought “Now that I have their attention, what do I want to say?” Social media can be a very negative place. There is a lot of despair, helplessness, and misinformation. So my goal this year was to create content that helped combat that noise. In 2025 I’ve been consistently creating content that is either helpful, empowering, informative, or uplifting. And hey, if it’s funny, all the better.

In order to do that, this year I took all kinds of classes. I learned so much about writing, comedy, and improvisation, while also continuing to hone my skills as a voice actor. Advancing my skills as an entertainer helps me keep a viewer from scrolling just long enough to slip some positivity into their life.

What are your plans for the future?
This year I’m hoping to scale up the work that I do by working more with others. It’s pretty clear that the entertainment industry is never going to “go back to normal,” and I think it’s on us as the creatives to define what Hollywood will look like going forward. I’ve been making great connections with other artists and performers, so my goal next year is to begin collaborating with my community to make even better art. Together we can have an even wider positive impact.
