Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie And Lauren Hamden
Hi Katie and Lauren, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Katie and Lauren Hamden started on TikTok, where they quickly started blowing up as people fixated on their Aussie accents, and the fact that they are identical twins. This ignited a flame in them that made them decide to take social media properly, they took to Instagram uploading regular content and working with the algorithm to grow their internet brand and image. Modelling was always a shared passion and dream of theirs, they secretly stole their mums fashion magazines and would sit together as children fantasising over wearing the clothes and walking down the runway.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a twin, we share all our life experiences. That includes the positive and the negatives, but honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way. We work together, share the same friends and hobbies so ultimately we are one, but whilst this may seem intense to some people, we like to see it as – balancing each other out – we are so unique, and polar opposites to one another that we need the other to form the perfect team 🙂
Growing up we were told that we were deluded, but We push each other every day to achieve the potential that we know the other has. But we have strength in having each other, and this kept us going.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are We are Aussie, beach obsessed and love taking content around the world wherever we are fortunate enough to go. We were initially known for our Aussie accents and the fact that we are identical twins. We’d have fun taking silly videos with our friends, but now that our platforms are more substantial, we thrive off of showing the world through our eyes, working as a team and showing to people that with passion and perseverance, you can achieve anything
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
We both share a lot of the same memories with each other, but the one that sticks out the most is to do with a little costume box we used to have. Our sisters were such skilled dancers, so our mum would make costumes for them and the whole dance team. Those costumes always ended up in that box, which we would usually raid to dress up.
We both tried to follow in their footsteps and become dancers, but honestly we had two left feet! I remember us dressing up in those costumes and performing the dances we created for our family. Our sisters would laugh at our attempted pointed toes, which were more crooked than anything! We also often dressed up in Spider-Man costumes and tried to climb the walls. Being a super hero seemed easier then learning how to dance
