Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Patrick Moore.

Joseph Patrick Moore

Joseph Patrick, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m a bass player, composer, and producer. I started playing music through the band program in 4th grade through 12th grade. Basically, I’m a product of music education.

I’m currently the bassist and backup leader/Assistant Music Director for the Cirque Du Soleil Las Vegas residency show, “Mystere”. I started on January 1, 2022, and have played 800+ shows since accepting this role. Prior to Cirque Du Soleil, I’ve released many solo projects under my name and have toured/recorded/worked with many artists such as Earl Klugh, Stewart Copeland (The Police), Bob James, Col. Bruce Hampton, Bo Bice (American Idol), Chris Duarte, Celtic Woman and many others.

Additionally, I’m involved in a record label – BlueCanoeRecords.com

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As an Artist/Musician, you have to roll with the punches… You will have obstacles and challenges, but you have to learn to navigate and have faith in the journey. The creative path is never a smooth road, but you need to understand that the struggles fuel creative aspirations and desires. It gives fuel to the fire so to speak.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a bassist, composer, and producer. I’ve released several solo CDs and have appeared on numerous recording projects with many artists in multiple genres. I would say what sets me apart is I play Electric, Double, and Fretless Bass. I’m also a recording engineer, producer, and composer and I understand the roles that each of these play.

I’m most proud of having a career in music and I’ve been flying under the radar for three decades now, but I’ve been fortunate to have worked with many great known and “unknown” artists throughout my career. Most notably Stewart Copeland (The Police), Bob James, Earl Klugh, and Celtic Woman, among others.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
During the Covid-19 Crisis, I learned to continue developing my craft as a player and composer. These roles are very solitude in nature, and it helped to strengthen the writing and performing aspect as an independent artist during this lockdown.
