Daily Inspiration: Meet Jordan Southerland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Southerland.

Hi Jordan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a 27 years old professional dunker and entertainer from Marietta, Georgia. I got my start in dunking game when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer once she finished chemotherapy she wanted me to pursue my dream of basketball. I took my last job check drove to Indiana in my 2008 Honda Civic for my first dunk contest for sprite. From that moment forward, I wanted to be the best dunker in the world.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely been far from a smooth road, I’ve dealt with family loss, injuries, financial issues, mental health issues divorce and a lot more.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m known for be the best one foot dunker ever and best dunker in the world at the moment. As an artist, I draw and paint a lot and my dunks are an extension of my art the fact I can create moments in the air is amazing to me.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
My most distinctive qualities are probably my humor and humility, on the court, I talk my trash like any other competitor but off I’m tryna to give advice, etc. I just want to help people become the best version of themselves without sacrificing who they are.
