Daily Inspiration: Meet Jonathan Talassazan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Talassazan.

Hi Jonathan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My biggest strength is pairing my passion for real estate with my extensive marketing background. This combination allows me to curate unique strategies for my clients incorporating both my experience and creativity. My decision to pursue a career in real estate began when my parents first decided to sell their homes. Watching the process from the sidelines was extremely eye-opening, but it also provided me with insight into the challenges and emotional complexities associated in a real estate transaction. Since then, I’ve been a part of millions of dollars worth of real estate transactions within the Greater Los Angeles community. Now, I pride myself in working tirelessly to stay ahead of the curve and provide compassionate service to my clients. Securing their dream home and ensuring their best interest is my key priority.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There has definitely been ups and downs, but when you do what you love every day, you find value in overcoming the challenges and not allowing them to discourage you. Personally, the first year in the business was definitely the most difficult. Not only did I have to learn the ropes of the business, but the deals I had put me up against others with years of experience and knowledge far greater than mine. The first sale I ever did, I represented the seller, and I recall how difficult the negotiations for just getting it under contract were. Little did I know, that was just the beginning. There were negotiations for inspections, appraisals, and what felt like every problem under the sun to my novice perspective. Looking back now, I still regard it as the most difficult deal I’ve had, but it’s also the one I’m most grateful for because it truly showed me how small struggles present us with great growth opportunities.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I take pride in being a luxury realtor. To me, luxury is an experience not a price point. I strive to provide every client with a luxurious experience when we work together. I specialize in all aspects of residential real estate. From buying and selling to leases that range from 3K/month and upwards of 25K/month. I service so many different areas and I find it important to keep my days organized. I typically start my mornings out by running hot-sheets on the areas I work in. It’s important for me to know what’s hit the market, what’s went into escrow, what’s had a price adjustment, etc. After I run my hot sheets, I begin client follow ups which will usually result in a few more activities to add to my day. After follow ups is when it feels like my day really begins. From showings to advertising, writing offers, meeting appraisers and photographers. Everyday is a journey and it’s truly a blessing.

I feel that one thing that sets me apart from the others is I don’t let success get to my head, and I don’t let failure get to my heart. The biggest challenge of this job is staying on track. You can easily get over encouraged with one deal that came easy. On the flip side, the deal that wasn’t so easy can slip between your fingers and that can be extremely discouraging.

What makes you happy?
There is so much life has to offer that it’s almost like, Why be unhappy? Joy and happiness can be found in everything, but your environment has a direct influence. Helping my clients purchase their dream home not only brings them great happiness, but it brings me joy as well knowing I was able to assist them in purchasing a place they can call home.
