Daily Inspiration: Meet John Kayacan

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Kayacan.

Hi John, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello! My name is John Kayacan, I am a photographer based in Los Angeles. I have an extensive background in both documentary and fine art photography, which I have used in my own professional work. I use a documentary approach when capturing my client’s special day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Trying to develop one’s own artistic style has always been one of the most rewarding challenges. Consistency is key, is definitely something I try to keep in mind anytime I have a camera in my hand.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I try to keep a very diverse and vast portfolio of work, try to not keep myself boxed into one type of photography, whether it’s weddings, portraits or even personal fine art work, I’ve always kept the idea of the decisive moment in everything that I do. This idea has alway served as a blueprint for many photographers. Being decisive with one’s own work can always result in a very unique way to tell a story with photography.
