Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Lynne White Pt
Hi Jessica Lynne, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Sure, it all started almost 6 years ago when I was pregnant with my son. I stumbled across an Instagram Influencer’s page while looking for outfits for my pregnancy photoshoot. I had no idea what an influencer was at that time. I noticed she was doing brand collaborations, affiliate links and was selling her own digital products and I was fascinated. It dawned on me that normal everyday people were using a free app called Instagram to make money. I literally dove into Instagram full force while I was rocking my son in the nursery. Consuming hours of content a day, how do I turn my Instagram into a sales funnel? What is grid aesthetic? What hashtags to use, what are reels, how to use hooks, how to use carousels, how to essentially turn your Instagram page into a sales funnel. So I took an influencer course for $400 online and I started doing brand collaborations. At first it was just because I wanted free skin care and free stuff for my nursery. But I saw a real business opportunity. I got my first brand collaboration with a high protein low carb nutrition bar for $150 (I had gestational diabetes and had a hard time finding yummy snacks that were low carb). When I pitched the brand with that exact message they hired me. I did this for 2 years and my friends and family thought I was absolutely nuts. It was a big shift to turn my Instagram page from photos of my life to marketing posts with a purpose. And then I saw a post on Instagram from one of the girls who took the same influencer course as me, she was selling a training course to teach people how to be Influencers. I reached out to her to ask how she was doing that and she basically told me, “you don’t have to be the best, you just have to be three steps ahead of someone else who needs you”. And a lightbulb went off in my head. So I decided to give it a try, I started posting that I could help micro influencers learn how to do brand collabs and I got my first paying client for $1600/month with a slider on Instagram stories that said ‘slide to learn more’. It was like a lightening bolt of clarity that making money on Instagram is a real thing, and I wanted to learn everything I could about how to make more money helping people. A few months later a dentist in Santa Monica reached out to me because she found me on a local influencer networking site and she asked me to help her grow her practice. I told her, “you don’t need an influencer, you need better content” and she hired me for $1800/month to do her social media. About a month later a Nurse Practitioner from Alpharetta Georgia found me and asked me to help her with content for social media. She did IV hydration, vitamin shots, body sculpting, aesthetics injectables and medical weight loss. She loved what I did for her and her peers took notice and fast. Within 6 months I had 20 Nurse Practitioners doing their social media. It was soon after that I started building websites and then launching ads on Meta and Google and before I knew it I had 25 Virtual Assistants from across the globe and over 100 clients. Today I am focused in the medical weight loss niche helping businesses launch and scale their medical weight loss brands.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Heck no it has not been smooth. It’s been a rollercoaster like no other. I’ve learned so much about technology, coding, website platforms, Meta, Google, content strategy, link in bio tools, funnel strategy, UGC content creation and how to build creator networks, web development, video editing you name it. And all while working full time the past 2 years and raising two children. I’ve had to write checks I didn’t have to pay vendors, praying the money would come in from somewhere else, and it always does. I’ve maxed out my credit cards to make payroll for my virtual assistants and I have always made it back. It has been one calculated risk after another. Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. If you don’t like change, ups and downs and constant risk, don’t do it. But if you have a twinkle in your eye and a passion in your heart and the entrepreneurial bug bites you, it never goes away. That dream will tuck you into bed every night and wake you up every morning until you do something about it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Today I am many things. I’m a licensed physical therapist of 25 years and the Director of Rehabilitation at a 24o bed hospital in Santa Monica, California. This has absolutely helped me break into the world of marketing health, wellness, aesthetics and weight loss. Being a PT gives me instant credibility and being a woman helps too. I’m sorry to say that many marketers are clueless to this industry without experience and often younger men with diminished insight into feminine based services like aesthetics and weight loss. What I’m known for is producing brands that are luxurious, elegant, timeless and relevant. All at a fraction of the cost of my competitors. I’d rather have a customer for years at a reasonable rate then gouge people and have them leave after 3 months. My goal is to help the underdogs. The women (and men) perhaps leaving bedside nursing and launching their own businesses in IV Hydration, aesthetics, medical weight loss and more.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I would say that my network of virtual assistants deserve massive credit. I never imagined I could release control of my businesses and trust others to help me. I almost shut my agency down 3 years ago because I was doing so much myself. My quality of life was in shambles and I was burning the candle at both ends. Until I found my COO from Pakistan and my executive assistant from the Philippines. Without them I would not be able to do what I do today. My whole team is made up of creatives, techies, artists and developers who are passionate and extremely capable. Behind every boss babe is a team, and my team have been with me for over 6 years. I don’t outsource anything to third parties. My team is my team and they are my work family.
