Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Annis
Hi Jessica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in California with my grandma who was born and raised in American Samoa. She came to California as a young adult for better opportunities for herself and future family. My grandmother raised me for my younger years because my birth mother unfortunately was addicted to drugs and alcohol. Talofa Boutique was born in 2023 after losing my grandmother on New Year’s Day of 2023 ”Talofa” means Hello in Samoan and is in honor of my beautiful grandmother. I’m proud to be a granddaughter of the most strong woman. My grandmother was a wonderful role model. I truly miss her so much and I just hope I’m making her proud. I’m a mother of 3 beautiful children. My oldest son Byron, my second born William and my beautiful daughter Kamiya are my biggest blessings and I’m thankful to have amazing children. They inspire me daily to keep pushing through even on the hard days.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have faced many challenges including health setbacks that I continue to face. I pray for the future and have high hopes that God will heal me. I’m just thankful and blessed everyday that I get another chance at this amazing life.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Through my boutique my main goal is to build up women and men so that they know that all of their dreams are possible. I have put together a couple of empowerment events so far and I look forward to doing many more.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was a very shy kid. I didn’t have a picture perfect family. I struggled because I didn’t have my mom or dad in my life, but I did have others who loved me. Growing up in foster care was not easy, but it turned me into who I am today a strong independent woman who loves God.
