Today we’d like to introduce you to Jared Lehr.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born to make art. End scene…Kidding. It started early at a young age watching my father make pieces of jewelry in the basement of our house. I fell in love with the process and all the steps from start to finish. After high school, I went to FIT for jewelry design, up until I was asked to not return for reasons I won’t name today. After years of being creative director at my father’s company, I launched my own collection in 2015. The personal mission statement was to make art and do whatever is necessary to make it from the soul. I could care less what the perception of my collection is, I know that it’s made with love and passion. Thats why people love it…. they can feel my love of the artistry.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The business aspect has always been strong, the only problem is how to be at four places at once. Still trying to figure out how to accomplish that.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m known for my cutting-edge design and attention to every detail. The devil is in the details and I’m quite devilish. I make everything in the US, which for fine jewelry is not easy.
How do you think about luck?
So far, my luck has been really really good….knock on wood. There’s been some sh*tty things that at the time really hurt and set me back creatively, but in the end there were all actually blessings sent from above. And I’ve got a great team that I lean on, who without them the company would be lost.
