Daily Inspiration: Meet James Barmore

Today we’d like to introduce you to James Barmore

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Born in Detroit, Michigan- raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Moved to California in 2014. I wanted to pursue a career as a recording artist and performer. I’m happy to say in 2025 I’m doing just that.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing about the artists journey is smooth. It’s the artistic personification of the human journey. While Simone quotes that “the artists responsibility is to reflect the times”, we also reflect our lives for the world to see, and consume.

Struggles look different for everyone, however I believe that we all as artists have found a deeper level of vulnerability, truth, and love for ourselves.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work consists of being a legacy, a business, and human all at once. Too deep? Good.

I am a performing artist, a vocal arranger, songwriter, and producer. I’m known for my “pretty vocals”. I’ve been compared to silk, and fine wine.

Im most proud of how far I’ve come and where my life has taken me and brought me to. I’ve lived a life that not many people get to experience. I don’t take it for granted in knowing how blessed, grateful, and privileged I am to be an artist.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
That I’m an introvert. I don’t like people, and if I do like you then you’re special. Haha!

Another thing would be that I’m a sad boy at heart, I have a lot of hurt that I have transmuted into the beauty that you see radiate from me and my art.
