Daily Inspiration: Meet Jakari Fraser

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jakari Fraser.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
At five y/o, I told my mom & dad that God told me I was supposed to be on the tv. My mom was really shocked and she did not know what to say. Then she responded with she didn’t know anything about the business or how to get me in the industry. That didn’t stop me from asking, two years later my mom figured out how to get me involved in the industry full time.

This is when I landed a very great role in my first movie alongside Julia Roberts and Courtney b Vance playing my parents. My dream quickly turned into a reality. I then started to land roles in movies, commercials and animation. As of now, I’m on three different animated series that I can not yet reveal but they are super fun and very exciting projects. My goal is to help other children like myself live their dreams And show them to follow their hearts no matter what. I also love to use my voice to help others and I’m also a hunger hero for no kid hungry.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This has definitely not been a smooth road, but I enjoy every minute of it. In the acting industry, we audition a lot and most of the time you will not get the role but what God has for me is for me. I wouldn’t trade it for anything I love to get in character and play different roles. I think the biggest struggle is getting so close to booking a role, only for casting to go a different way but what my parents always say is no matter what I am to give my best and know that the decision has less to do with me and more about the things no one can control.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m most known for my role as Liam in Ben is Back. I also appeared in superintelligence with Melissa McCarthy, I have also played in baking Christmas on the OWN Network. A new movie called embattled with kaurrueche Tran and Stephen Dorff as my parents. I am most proud of my philanthropic work and my advocacy for no kid hungry. Last year before covid, I put on a dance a thon event for no kid hungry. We were able to raise enough money to provide 120,000 meals once Stephen curry and Aiesha curry matched our donation. That was one of the best days only my life. The thing that most sets me apart is my joyous spirit and my ability to simply be in the moment.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I think my best characteristic is my easy going nature, my respect for others and my loving personality.
