Jacqui, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Since I was a child I dabbled in photography, learning from. My father who had a love of it. I was standing on chairs taking photos at family celebrations. At a certain point in time, I had recently left a job in the finance sector when one day, a friend asked me if I still had interest photography. He informed me that there was an opening at a photo agency he worked at in Hollywood. Such a career change and risk, but I decided to pursue it. Suddenly I have made a compete career change as a press photographer, shooting Hollywood parties, events and movie premieres. Soon after, I was shooting award shows and after-parties. After a few years of photography, I retuned to a career in finance. The fire kept burning, and I returned to photography, focusing on private clients.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There is so much fun and creativity to photography. The challenge was starting from scratch building a business and client base. It’s all the office stuff that is less fun.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My goal is to produce collaborative projects with my clients. Whether it’s shooting photos for a special event where they will have memories to cherish, or a fine art submission, showcasing a product, or photos to grow their business, I look to achieve images that my clients will be satisfied with. I integrate my business and finance background if a clients is seeking to grow their business or image.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
It will be interesting to see where AI takes this industry. That’s a big game-changer.
