Daily Inspiration: Meet Izabel Honey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Izabel Honey.

Hi Izabel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Ever since I was little, I was always around music from me watching my mom sing and dance to JLo to karaoke nights with my grandpa. In Growing up, I moved schools a lot so I got bullied a lot and my dad was locked up basically my whole childhood so I became kind of depressed and was a troubled teen it was pretty tuff. Music was always my outlet just put some headphones on, play some music and it felt like everything was gonna be okay. Music really got me through some dark times. It basically saved my life at one point. I didn’t start writing and making my own music until 2020 right before the big pandemic. Having more free time with not working really pushed me to take on my career head on and I haven’t looked back since. I’m so grateful and blessed that I can even be pursuing my dream that honestly feels like it’s turning into reality now. I thank god everyday.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I really thought it was would simple to take on a music career all on my own, but it’s been a roller coaster ride to say the least. I’m still learning while I go. The music industry can be a very shady place if you aren’t too careful. I’ve had my bad experiences with producers and other artists that have tried to take advantage of a situation or two. As a female artist, it can be a little scary with who to trust in the industry. Luckily I have found my team and they are the best people. I’m truly blessed. Shoutout to Zayce and Speedy I love you guys!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a singer and songwriter. I’ve written all of my songs on my own and I usually get inspiration from the current mood I’m in at the time. Which is pretty cool because my moods are all over the place. Break up songs are my specialty lol! My love life is crazy and you will be able to tell if you sit and listen to my music. My main goal with my music is to be as relatable to the listener as I can because I know the best songs are the ones you can relate to. Also, I’ve been working on my rapping! I’m only 4’11 but I can spit bars too! Just don’t battle me to a freestyle cause I’ll lose. I’m trying though I’ll get it down soon!

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory would be late night karaoke sessions with my family. I started off young! My mom and my grandma would always do duets or solos and I always just wanted to take over the mic and sing Selena or Mariah Carey. And this was me at like six years old! I was always a diva putting on a show or just hogging the mic!
