Today we’d like to introduce you to Genesis Ruiz-arana
Hi Genesis, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story begins as a young girl who started college at 17 years old and graduated with her Bachelor’s four years later in Criminal Justice. For a girl who has never used her degree and still pursues business as an entrepreneur, I do very good for myself in the exotic dancing and the modeling industry. I have been dancing for seven years and modeling three years. Now funny to say I have been dancing longer more than modeling, although they both involve using my body in shape of art.
Exotic dancing has a terrible reputation for itself, but has gotten me so far in my modeling career by allowing me to invest in myself. By investing in myself I have been able to invest in my body, looks, and wardrobe to look and feel better. That does include post-surgeries and a little bit of filler and hair extensions, of course any beautiful girl is expensive. The beautiful thing is you don’t need to invest thousands of dollars like I did, but because it makes you feel more confident.
After I had cleaned up my look and started promoting myself as a business on my Instagram more, I suddenly gained all these followers and had a large fan base of 40,000 followers. I instantly started collaborating with creators like myself by meeting amazing people at networking events including the club, runway events , red carpets, and photo shoots on set. I started meeting really amazing big time people like Drake’s dad, a couple of my favorite artists on the radio while being in there music videos, and getting published for my name. I then knew I had a fan base and and could start promoting myself as an influencer to encourage other beautiful women to model or dance and be themselves. I then fell into runway and fell in love with fashion because I always used my body for business I knew a new wardrobe was ALWAYS needed to keep up with my reputation. In runway, we wear very high end designer pieces that are 1 of 1, only made for my specific measurements which I absolutely love !
After being an Instagram model for 3 years I continue to still promote myself and reached different branches of branding now internationally in London, Europe, Carribeans, Miami, New York, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road just because I can afford an expensive lifestyle people still perceive it to be terrible by using my body to promote myself for business. It is definitely not respected in the more traditional families, which is okay because I was raised in that traditional aspect. My family has changed there perspective in what I do and I’ve learned to grow with their beliefs as well. I say times are changing and people need to be more open-minded especially on social media. Today both women and men more open to possibilities of rejuvenating money forms of other platforms to promote their body, while in terms of modeling it is more fashion and exotic dancing is more having to use your body.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Recently, I discovered that I do have a creative side in terms of designing clothes. I noticed I was spending so much money on clothes for my new events and for the sake of being confident on my Instagram feed continuously to stay in trend with other models. I then realized why not start designing clothes if I have a passion for fashion? So I bought a sewing machine, and started playing around with it. I then went to downtown Los Angeles, where I live and went in the fashion district and got some really cool fabrics and started playing around with them. When I went to the Caribbeans to walk the runway, I brought three couture bikinis with me and they got published internationally with Getty images. I am super proud to say I was able to create some pieces and sew them together. Although I just started sewing, I do want to jump into my more creative side and see where that takes me as an entrepreneur. I opened my business last year 2023 under a woman’s clothing boutique called Babygirl Glam.
What’s next?
My plans for the future are to be very independent just like how I am now and be more successful on the social media platform such as Instagram, YouTube, Onlyfans, and Twitter. I believe people should change their perception on how women should carry themselves if the opposite sex being a man is going to do what he wants regardless. With all do respect if it’s making you money and not hurting anyone, what does it even matter? I’ve seen so many women buy houses online for going viral on their own content. Eventually, I would love to buy property! That is one of my biggest goals to invest in property not my body anymore. Let the money work for itself is the best business to have.
Although I’m still learning the ropes of business as a young entrepreneur I strive for bigger desires and bigger dreams than just using my body for my image. I believe every person should be given a chance if they are striving better for themselves because you never know what people are going through. That is why I am always trying to help women get in the modeling industry as well as booking models myself for my clothing boutique Babygirl Glam.
