Daily Inspiration: Meet Fernando Zamora

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fernando Zamora.

Hi Fernando, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Also known as “Menso One” you can find my work on Instagram at @mensoone. I was born and raised in Southern California, art is my God-given talent, it was one of my fathers first loves, I am grateful to have learned and found interest in such a beautiful craft utilizing my hands to produce, A hard work ethic and family values was the perfect formula to help a young man like myself create an identity and make a name for himself in the street art world. The culture has lead the way for me to grow and prosper, my lifestyle and image is how they identify the visual which corresponds with the company’s I have branded that reached all levels of entrepreneurship as a small business owner. I’ve recently made the transition to fine art selling paintings to art collectors. It’s been a breakthrough since the movement is so powerful and can really make an impact with what we create, I’m fascinated with doing as many works of art as possible and in all and every location ranging from everything to tattoos, large scale murals and in the near future sculptures and installation within the city as permanent landmarks.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I was a starving artist my entire life, it wasn’t until recently I had a game changer, 18 years old out of high school I was all in and wasn’t going to stop pursuing my dream, Countless amounts of hours, days, years, trials and tribulations, always wanting to give up, we finally had a light shine, it was 25 years in the making, and I’m still learning and improving everyday, the most difficult thing to do was create a portfolio, it takes a period of time to accumulate a substantial amount when you reveal a body of work that speaks for itself you will unveil your “style’’, One that is unique and call your very own, in hopes to stand out above the rest, that’s when things look up for you as a creator, now that you are known for something that catches your eye and immediately can be pointed out to be your art and put a name to it, it becomes a household name that’s timeless and no one else can provide the authenticity you put into the inspired works.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’ve meshed all the Southern California lifestyles and culture together, everything from skating, surfing, low riding, hot rods, punk rock and hip hop, you name it, clashed all the forms of expression together and you have a well rounded and versatile artist who can relate and congregate with every walk of life using the art as a universal language. I’m known for graffiti art murals that’s spread positivity, I have a classic script lettering I’ve near trademarked, I’ve developed a unique look where the imagery is “stained glass” inspired, last but not least, I’m well known amongst the Hollywood elites, I cater to them with a private tattoo studio in Hollywood where I provide a memorable experience like no other shop has to offer, I develop some close and personal relationships with all my clients which helps build the platform to new heights for future development and potential collaborations, I’m proud of making a stamp in more than one aspect of the creative world, thats what sets me apart since I do more than just one form of art.

How do you think about luck?
Good and bad luck is definitely something that’s been on my side pushing boundaries and learning from mistakes, you have to be willing to earn it in my eyes. Once you have the POWER, Possibilities are endless and the impossible becomes fun to accomplish. Along with the challenge you present yourself, if you have reached the goal or dream, you have experienced manifestation, which I’m very firm believer in, you can put it out in the atmosphere to speak it into existence.
