Daily Inspiration: Meet Elle Feral

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elle Feral

Hi Elle, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always snapped photos and recorded my daily life since joining social media in 2013. I used it like a diary to compile my adventures in fashion and music and eventually tattooing as well as snippets from my day to day as a means to connect with my long distance friends so they could keep up with my shenanigans.

As a kid, I knew I wanted to work in entertainment and loved Los Angeles the moment I stepped foot in it. At the time, I also knew I wanted to be a heavily tattooed person and wasn’t sure if that would work for being an actor – So I decided that working behind the scenes as a makeup artist would be the move.

I continued working as a makeup artist, model and entertainer through my early 20’s and somewhere along the line, I realized that behind the camera wasn’t my place anymore and decided to step in front of it to take a focus on showcasing my interests. My incredibly supportive friends who cheered on my animated personality and knack for drawing people in and those already doing social media really helped to teach me the ropes from being a passive sharer to really dialing in and finding my audience who is also interested in what brings me joy.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I am always the first person standing in my own way. I suffer from imposter syndrome big-time. I’m my own worst enemy, and for what reason? I have amassed an incredibly uplifting community for myself that wants nothing but success for the people close to them. I trust so much in the opinion and feedback of my people – why would I not believe them when they tell me that I’m great at this and should give it a go? Turns out trusting in yourself isn’t so hard after all and since leaning into that I find putting yourself out there in a new arena, isn’t so scary. Finding your niche and being consistent is so important to establishing your presence and reaching your intended audience.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a content creator. I’m best known for showcasing my ever evolving sense of style, goofy skits with my pals, travels to see live music and pick up tattoos for my bodysuit along the way.

I think what sets me apart is that I strive to show not just the pretty and curated content but the day to day parts of my life too. Sometimes that’s a 2 week run of flying around to see a favorite band back to back, a day of getting tattooed and treats, an adventure with my friends to a music festival or to take a party bus to the Cracker Barrel. It also just might be the outfit I wore for the 14 coffees I had that day and walking my dog.

What matters most to you?
What matters to me is attempting to have the most fun in anything I’m doing, authentically showcasing my interests and creating genuine connections. I want to be a mirror to those around me to reflect back to them why they are so special and give a little bit of that bright light that they shine on me by being in their presence, back to them.
