Today we’d like to introduce you to Elektro Ninja.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I got started with music by happenstance, recording and making beats for my friends for fun. A few of them suggested I take it seriously so I dropped out of CSUN and enrolled at Musicians Institute in Hollywood. I opened my first studio shortly after graduating and the rest, as they say, is history.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I can’t say it’s exactly been a smooth road for me. Partnerships fail, projects fail, I’ve had to move studios multiple times, things can and will go wrong. I think I try to focus on the lessons I’ve learned from those struggles and remind myself that even when things don’t go well, quitting is not an option. Work with what you’ve got, make sacrifices where you can and keep it pushing.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Billboard-certified music producer/engineer! I tend to say; I make artists sound better than they actually are for a living 😉 but that would be oversimplifying it. I’d like to think I’m known for being able to capture people’s sound and workflow in the studio, which makes me easy to work with. I’m definitely most proud when my clients are excited about what we create together. There’s no better feeling than watching an artist get emotional because you’ve helped them build a part of their dream. I can work with multiple genres and I believe that’s something that sets me apart from others.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the weather, the food, the people and culture… I highly dislike traffic.
