Today we’d like to introduce you to Edgar Xavier.
Hi Edgar, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I put myself through college- as a young queer male I had to pursue and make my dreams come true.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The world has gotten better (Ish) when it comes to the existence of queer people. I willingly left a toxic environment after graduating high school and have been building my life without the stereotypical support group most people have.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I went to Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Even though the school currently does not offer a concentration in Themed Entertainment (Theme Park Design). I purposefully tailored my education in the Animation Program to pursue a career in that industry.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
First off, my found family. The Lambs. Secondly, Sionanne Hillier in admissions, Cathy Hines in Financial Aid. Without their ardent support and guidance, I would’ve gone crazy navigating the world – that is the American college system.
