Daily Inspiration: Meet Dustin Enriquez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dustin Enriquez.

Dustin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?

I grew up in Pico Rivera, California raised by two strong women. I started participating in sports around high school excelling in basketball and football, attending Junior College that would lead me to the opportunity to be awarded full scholarships to USC Arizona and Marshall for football. Started school fought for my spot and went undefeated in my amateur career from 2009 to 2012. In 2013, I began my career as a trainer with an array of clients for their personal needs in either strength & conditioning and boxing while preparing their minds to train mentality. I pride myself on being able to connect with my clients, “waking” them up to show how their bodies can move and teaching them how to re-tune and reconnect with themselves. Having that mind and body connection is more than just the physical aspect. For almost a decade, I have used the tools I have learned throughout my life to help set up everyone for greatness.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road but that is part of the process, growth comes from struggles. I had to continue my education in order to be a better coach. I educated myself about body biomechanics and how it related to the performance side of strength training, metabolic training and tapping into the spiritual side of training. It is not just physical.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My line of work is more artsy creative when it comes to the physical aspect of learning boxing or learning more about your body and understanding that these are treats you can learn to pass on to the next generation. Executing boxing techniques as not only self-defense but also learning different physical techniques as your therapy session in counseling. Boxing being both physical and mental learning how to throw a proper punch, learning to step with punches and understanding how and why you would slip and slide through punches while moving your feet. It is a total body workout to me, I take pride as it is an art and allows you to be creative.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Never give up, never allow failure get to your heart and never let success get to your head.
