Daily Inspiration: Meet Dr. Robin Barrett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Robin Barrett.

Hi Dr. Barrett, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My desire to work in the medical field began in the 8th grade when I had the opportunity to obtain my first internship at a Pediatric Medical Center. From that point, I had numerous internships and jobs in the medical field to figure out what I wanted to specialize in. My entrepreneurial journey began in undergraduate studies at Syracuse University, NY where I achieved a Bachelor of Science in Biology and started my first clothing business. After graduating, I took my education pursuit to Los Angeles where I attended UCLA Pre-Med program to enhance my education in the medical field. I feel that my desire to work in the healthcare industry was impacted by my love for science and people.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing I’ve ever done came easy, but I’ve never expected it to. I’ve had to learn how to juggle med school, my business, my overall fitness, and my life.

What helped me overcome these struggles was my belief. I really am a strong believer in discipline and hard work so it’s been amazing seeing what has been able to come out of that.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a pharmacist, entrepreneur, fitness enthusiast, podcast host, and social media influencer who has combined her education in the pharmacy field with a focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle through fitness. I’ve created my own lane in the health and beauty space by aligning with missions that promote holistic health from the inside out.

My medical knowledge has also afforded me the opportunity to create and produce my very own skincare brand called “Muze Labs” @muze.labs. I am a philanthropist and community leader who has curated multiple services initiatives in the underserved community.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory would be the one that sparked my interest in the pharmacy and the medical field which was when I spent the summer with my great grandparents. As my great grandfather was managing his disease state, I wanted to do what I could to help take care of him. During this time, he started to call me his “Little doctor” because I always made sure that he was taking his medication and taking care of his overall health.
