Daily Inspiration: Meet Dr. M. Brown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. M. Brown.

Hi Dr. M., we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I wanted to start the Brown Medical and Educational (MAE) Foundation as a way to contribute to my community. As a physician, it is important for my community to see those who look like them active in various roles within leadership and service.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road. Establishing partnerships, collaborating with other organizations and establishing successful programs have been a learning experience.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
The Brown Medical and Educational (MAE) Foundation was established to provide healthcare and educational support nationally and internationally to make lives better by providing scholarships, educational programs, and medical outreach. The ability to use my medical and public health training to provide needed programs in communities is what I am most proud of the founder of the Brown MAE Foundation.

Any big plans?
Each year the Brown Medical and Educational (MAE) Foundation has been able to increase our outreach and impact by serving in several communities in the United States including Austin, Cincinnati, Compton, Culver City, Houston, Jacksonville, Long Beach, Los Angeles, and St. Louis as well as internationally in Belize, Haiti, South Africa and Zambia.
