Today we’d like to introduce you to Daxton Edwards
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m an aspiring entertainer. I was born and raised in Cartersville Georgia by Ernestine and Ronald Griffin Edwards. I am not just another Hollywood hopeful though. Los Angeles has been an adventure, to say the least, and adventures can be a great many things!
In short, Los Angeles has been a reality check on how tough it is to make it in the Entertainment Industry. I decided to pursue other strengths and talents to support myself and career. I started a band, and I teach martial arts.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The struggles have been the lies. People in this town capitalize off of hungry starving artists. There are some who come here just for the opportunity to feed off of aspiring artists as their career. Im still challenged to grow and get better everyday. Reality checks on how talent doesn’t always get you a spot in this world has been a constant struggle
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an aspiring entertainer. I absolutely love Entertainment! I truly believe that it is one of mankind’s greatest gifts and blessings! My ultimate goal is to be a world renowed actor/music performer.
Usually when people see me and my band they think that we are gonna be jazz, or hip hop or R and B but we arent any of those fully. We do rock music. We don’t look like a typical rock band. We have so many different rock vibes that we make work.
As an actor I have taken many workshops and some classes but It’s mostly self discovery for me through doing it. I have done some stage, motion capture, 9 audio books, fight choreography, and some indie feature and supporting roles.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love that in Los Angeles anything that one wants to learn or do to make money there is an opportunity here. Opportunity abounds here. It is what continues to call people to it.
I dislike that it isn’t very cohesive. Los Angeles could do better at that. I do a lot off walking. I walk 5 miles minimum everyday. People are cohesive with their groups and areas but we don’t reach out and spread the love and help our neighbors like we should. I like to think that someday A- list celebrities and high profile business men and women will get together and start forming wholesome connected and networking communities.
