Daily Inspiration: Meet Dana Shine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dana Shine

Hi Dana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am only child who has “followed the pudding cups” as I like to say referencing a childhood favorite movie “Air Bud”. I say this because God knows exactly what to put in front of me to keep me on the track to my destiny. My professional entertainment career started at the age of 9 years old as I was a principle dancer in the iconic Hoedown Throwdown scene in Disney’s The Hannah Montana Movie. Following the movie I became the face of Kidzbop for several years doing all the commercials, music videos, live shows, etc. Which unknowingly prepared me to be in internationally known & successful boyband “IM5” (2012-2016). After the group I played “Fresh Edwards” on BET’s American Soul, as well as “Marcus Jones” in the award winning Netflix staple “Never Have I Ever”. My personal music career took off at the same time I was filming the shows amassing me over 20 million streams along withe credits like K Michelle, Princeton Perez, Lovy Elias, etc. as a songwriter and producer.

There is so much more I could touch on but this is as quick of a road map of my career I can provide 🙂

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I am so grateful to say is has been a beautiful journey. I have been in LA now for 17 years & most people don’t make it that long, not to mention are still on a trajectory to pass where they are. I have to attest it to my amazing parents that took a chance on me at a young age and making the sacrifices necessary to have me in LA.

I think a struggle that LA attempts to put on all people is the ability to know yourself beyond what you do. Everyone is so focused on external success that they build their identity on what they do and not who they are. I myself didn’t fall victim to this but it was certainly a fight to not go down that road.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Everything I do I want to be a benefit to somebody else. Which is why the money I make through my talents & gifts I use the income and increase from my endeavors to fund mission & revival trips through my ministry Under The King. Last year I was able to go to Oslo, Norway and deliver the message of Christ to many there. We saw God heal kids in the streets, deliver people form addictions, among other miracles and many people were re-ignited in the Faith to prevail in dark times!

What separates me in my field is my vision & audacity to be bold. As someone who has seen the results of a lack of identity in Christ, it is my mission to create atmospheres from people to know themselves as God desires for them to see themselves. If you don’t know Who’s you are you won’t live accordingly.

I come from the Kingdom not the system of this world. I am passionate about telling people about my country and want people to receive a better life because of the love of God.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Wisdom.
