Today we’d like to introduce you to Damon Horton.
Hi Damon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Started my business simply put because it’s a passion of mine. Some reasons why are to help kids just like me see that they can really do or be whomever they want to be. It’s a gift of mine, I guess and this is just me sharing and expressing myself with it.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been difficult honestly, support waivers and it kind of makes you question the people most close to you because a lot of the time, they don’t support you the same way they do others. Kind of tough figuring out where and how to do certain things or even getting advice sometimes. It’s like most people refuse to help because they don’t want you to get to where they are or further.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Genuinely just a self-sufficient person. I have connections around the city that help me grow daily and I’m literally always open to exchanging opinions. I specialize in clothes, I’d say mostly sweaters and hats but more so people, I love making connections with genuine people and a lot of times my clothes help me do that. In the city, specifically my younger years, I was mostly known for sports and dressing nice. Off subject, I’m most proud of being a father and raising my son to be an even better man then I could ever be. Watts different than me and most people. I’m not just creating for me but for everyone, hoping that the things I do in life inspire and also open doors for others just like me and so much more.
What’s next?
Plans for the future, I’m looking forward to starting an annual pop-up shop of some sort getting better with the business end of things while growing in every aspect of life. Changes are expansion I plan to have some sort of building to house my brand, whether that be production just somewhere the clothes are made or a storefront where we sell everything or even both.
